Leakage flux in a single phase transformer

Journal of Magnetism and Magnetic Materials, 1984
Abstract The effects of aluminium magnetic shielding and mild steel magnetic shunts on the leakage flux in the steel tank of a single-phase 50 Hz low power transformer have been investigated.

Estimation of residual flux in single phase transformer using dynamic modeling of two winding single phase transformer

2017 International Seminar on Intelligent Technology and Its Applications (ISITIA), 2017
This study deals with estimation of residual flux in 1 kVA 1-phase transformer. Transformers used in the study have two type core cutting topology. The transformers were modeled with MATLAB software and then simulated to obtained inrush current. Experiments were also done in order to obtain its inrush current with different demagnetization time.

Inrush Current Modeling in a Single-Phase Transformer

IEEE Transactions on Magnetics, 2010
This paper introduces a proper model for ferromagnetic core which includes hysteresis, saturation, eddy current losses, and anomalous losses. This model can generate symmetrical and asymmetrical loops with high accuracy. An artificial neural network is used to present the major dc hysteresis loop and initial magnetization curve based on a set of ...

Idling Mode Simulation of Single-Phase Transformer

2019 IEEE International Conference on Modern Electrical and Energy Systems (MEES), 2019
A unifying mathematical model of the single-phase transformer is developed. This model superposes the external electrical circuit and an electromagnetic fields model, which describing the processes of electromagnetic energy conversion in a transformer.

Inception of Jump resonance in Single phase transformer

2021 4th Biennial International Conference on Nascent Technologies in Engineering (ICNTE), 2021
The saturation of the transformer leads to abnormality as the device enters the nonlinear mode of operation. One such condition is ferroresonance in the transformer which has resulted in (2 - 4) pu overvoltage and overcurrent. The saturated transformer can initiate any one of the four modes of ferroresonance depending on initial conditions and circuit ...

Harmonic analysis of ferroresonance in single-phase transformers

2012 IEEE 15th International Conference on Harmonics and Quality of Power, 2012
Ferroresonance is a power quality problem that is characterized by distorted overvoltage and current waveforms. This paper reviews the ferroresonance problem associated with a circuit involving an unloaded transformer that is connected to a source through a capacitor, and solution methodologies. A common simplified method based on fundamental frequency

Feedback techniques applied to the single-phase transformer

Transactions of the American Institute of Electrical Engineers, Part II: Applications and Industry, 1957
THE ANALYSIS of electric machines makes use of the vector diagram and the equivalent circuit diagram. Both of these methods give the various quantities sought (current, voltage, torque, etc.) under conditions of steady-state operation. When electric machines are used as elements in a general control system, one should rather apply the same techniques ...

Single-Phase Power Transformer Formed Cores

Transactions of the American Institute of Electrical Engineers, 1950
For many years power and distribution transformer cores were built of hot-rolled laminations assembled into a core structure. When cold-rolled, oriented strip steel was introduced into transformers, new types of distribution transformer cores were developed.

A Harmonic Model for the Nonlinearities of Single-Phase Transformer with Describing Functions

IEEE Power Engineering Review, 2002
In a transformer, the harmonic model is essential for the filter design and analysis of harmonic power flow. Among all of the harmonic analyses of nonlinear devices, the core nonlinearity caused by the transformer hysteresis has received the most interest. Although many harmonic models have been proposed to interpret the nonlinearity of the transformer

A modular solid state transformer with a single-phase medium-frequency transformer

2013 IEEE Electrical Power & Energy Conference, 2013
A number of topologies have been introduced for Solid State Transformer (SST); each has its own pros and cons. The three-stage topology, employing a multilevel converter as the first stage, is the most commonly adopted topology in the recent literature. In this paper, a three-stage SST topology is proposed which employs modular multilevel converters in
