The pulsed laser has gradually become the standard method of studying the single-event effects of micro-nano devices, and it is a powerful supplement to heavy ion experiments on single-event effects.

Doubly heralded single-photon absorption by a single atom [PDF]
We report on a single-photon-to-single-atom interface, where a single photon generated by Spontaneous Parametric Down Conversion (SPDC) is absorbed by a single trapped ion. The photon is heralded by its time-correlated partner generated in the SPDC process, while the absorption event is heralded by a single photon emitted in its course.

In this work, we report single- and two-photon absorption (TPA) induced transmission and resonance modulation in a multilayer gallium selenide (GaSe) integrated silicon nitride (Si3N4) waveguide and ring resonator operating in the 700–800 nm wavelength ...

We propose a superconducting nanowire single photon detector (SNSPD) that can work efficiently at two target wavelengths and has a significant improvement in the counting rate due to the low-filling-factor nanowires in the silicon slots and the silver ...

Emission and Absorption of Single Photons by Single Atoms
Research in Optical Sciences, 2012For quantum networking, we show high-rate single-mode emission of bandwidth-tunable single photons from a single ion, and heralded absorption by the ion of single photons from SPDC photon pairs. The heralded absorption preserves entanglement.

Suppression of Residual Single-Photon Absorption Relative to Two-Photon Absorption in High Finesse Planar Microcavities [PDF]
Suppression of residual single-photon absorption (SPA) relative to two-photon absorption (TPA) in a high finesse GaAs planar microcavity is explored. The TPA photocurrent becomes larger than the SPA photocurrent as long as the incident continuous-wave optical power exceeds 0.09 mW.

Abstract Photofluorochromic diarylethene (DAE) molecules have been widely investigated due to their excellent fatigue resistance and thermal stability. However, the poor water solubility of DAEs limits their biological applications to some extent.
