Single photon nonlinear absorption spectroscopy of cascade energy level systems
Optik, 2019Abstract Theoretically discussed the third order nonlinear optical properties and absorption cross-sections in two and three level cascade systems by considering single photon resonant absorption at 671 nm of CW laser. The results indicate that while two level system producing Single Saturable Absorption (SSA), it is possible to obtain Double ...

Simulating single-photon-single-atom absorption experiments with an optical resonator
2013 Conference on Lasers & Electro-Optics Europe & International Quantum Electronics Conference CLEO EUROPE/IQEC, 2013The absorption of a single photon by a single two-level system (TLS) in free space is a fundamental physical process. In this contribution, we present the experimental realization of a model system to simulate the dynamics of such an absorption experiment: Comparing the absorption process of a single photon by a single TLS and the incoupling dynamics ...

Pointlike destruction in transparent materials caused by single-photon absorption
SPIE Proceedings, 1999A quantum-kinetic theory is suggested for point-like destructions generation in clear transparent dielectrics. Direct absorption of phonons with an energy exceeding the binding energy of a neural adatom with lattice may become a cause for destruction. The theory contains one phenomenological parameter requiring experimental verification.
