Photon transport through a nanohole by a moving atom

open access: yesNew Journal of Physics, 2016
We have proposed and investigated for the first time an efficient way of photon transport through a subwavelength hole by a moving atom. The transfer mechanism is based on the reduction of the wave packet of a single photon due to its absorption by an ...

Single photon source using laser pulses and two-photon absorption [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review A, 2006
We have previously shown that two-photon absorption (TPA) and the quantum Zeno effect can be used to make deterministic quantum logic devices from an otherwise linear optical system. Here we show that this type of quantum Zeno gate can be used with additional two-photon absorbing media and weak laser pulses to make a heralded single photon source.

Current-Assisted SPAD with Improved p-n Junction and Enhanced NIR Performance

open access: yesSensors, 2020
Single-photon avalanche diodes (SPADs) fabricated in conventional CMOS processes typically have limited near infra-red (NIR) sensitivity. This is the consequence of isolating the SPADs in a lowly-doped deep N-type well.

Quantum Single-Photon Control, Storage, and Entanglement Generation with Planar Atomic Arrays

open access: yesPRX Quantum, 2021
While artificially fabricated patterned metasurfaces are providing paradigm-shifting optical components for classical light manipulation, strongly interacting, controllable, and deterministic quantum interfaces between light and matter in free space ...

Single-photon absorption by single photosynthetic light-harvesting complexes [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Physics B: Atomic, Molecular and Optical Physics, 2018
We provide a unified theoretical approach to the quantum dynamics of absorption of single photons and subsequent excitonic energy transfer in photosynthetic light-harvesting complexes. Our analysis combines a continuous mode -photon quantum optical master equation for the chromophoric system with the hierarchy of equations of motion describing ...

Establishment of a humanized patient‐derived xenograft mouse model of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer for preclinical evaluation of combination immunotherapy

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We have established a humanized orthotopic patient‐derived xenograft (Hu‐oPDX) mouse model of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSOC) that recapitulates human tumor–immune interactions. Using combined anti‐PD‐L1/anti‐CD73 immunotherapy, we demonstrate the model's improved biological relevance and enhanced translational value for preclinical ...

On the Theory of the Intraband Mechanism of Single-Photon Absorption in Semiconductors, Taking into Account the Effect of Coherent Saturation

open access: yesEast European Journal of Physics
A theoretical analysis of the frequency–temperature dependence of the single-photon absorption coefficient of polarized radiation in narrow- and wide-bandgap semiconductors is conducted, considering intraband optical transitions and including the ...

Raman‐based label‐free microscopic analysis of the pancreas in living zebrafish larvae

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Forward stimulated Raman scattering (F‐SRS) and epi coherent anti‐Stokes Raman scattering (E‐CARS) allow label‐free discrimination of distinct subcellular structures in the pancreas of living zebrafish larvae. Given the straightforward applicability, we anticipate broad implementation of Raman microscopy in other organs and across various biomedical ...

Polarization‐resolved femtosecond Vis/IR spectroscopy tailored for resolving weak signals in biological samples using minimal sample volume

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Unique biological samples, such as site‐specific mutant proteins, are available only in limited quantities. Here, we present a polarization‐resolved transient infrared spectroscopy setup with referencing to improve signal‐to‐noise tailored towards tracing small signals. We provide an overview of characterizing the excitation conditions for polarization‐

Multi-Color Two-Photon Microscopic Imaging Based on a Single-Wavelength Excitation

open access: yesBiosensors, 2022
Two-photon probes with broad absorption spectra are beneficial for multi-color two-photon microscopy imaging, which is one of the most powerful tools to study the dynamic processes of living cells.
