SINGLE STAGE EXCISION OF PREAURICULAR SINUS

Australian and New Zealand Journal of Surgery, 1995
A total of 44 patients with preauricular sinus underwent one‐stage surgical treatment. There were 32 unilateral and 12 bilateral cases giving a total of 56 sinuses. Of these 16 were infected at the time of presentation. Based on the observation that preauricular sinus represents the duct of a preauricular gland which is closely adherent to the ...

A Single Stage Virtual Synchronous Machine

2019 IEEE International Conference on Industrial Technology (ICIT), 2019
Virtual Synchronous Machines (VSM) are proposed to support a power grid with high penetration of inverter-based distribution generation (DG) units. When the number of inverters connected to a grid increases, grid lacks the inertia that conventionally is introduced by the synchronous machine (SM). Therefore, VSMs are proposed to virtually introduce such

The Single-Stage Design

2017
In this chapter, the test problem is introduced for the case of a standard single-stage design, meaning that no interim analysis is performed. The underlying parameters and distributional assumptions, the test problems, and the test statistics will be separately formulated for (composite) binary endpoints and for (composite) time-to-(first-)event ...

Single‐Stage Superchargers

Aircraft Engineering and Aerospace Technology, 1940
IN many types of engine the supercharger is built on to the accessory‐drive end, that is the rear of the engine, so that the supercharger shaft lies co‐axially or parallel with the crankshaft. This has the great advantage of permitting the use of simple spur gearing, but suffers from the disadvantage that in passing through both intake and delivery ...

Laparoscopic Single Stage and Staged Orchiopexy

Journal of Urology, 1994
The initial series of laparoscopic single stage orchiopexy for the abdominal or emergent impalpable undescended testis is reported. The first laparoscopic orchiopexy was performed at our institution in October 1991. Between October 1991 and January 1993, 14 patients (16 testes) underwent minimally invasive surgery with 6 months of followup in all cases.

Single-stage Amplifiers

1985
In chapter 4, the response of junction transistors to small signals was investigated. The transistor was, of course, assumed to be suitably biased to give normal operating conditions, the small input and output signals being superimposed on standing levels.

Analysis of Concepts for Single Stage to Orbit

Journal of Spacecraft and Rockets, 1996
Introduction T HE Space Shuttle was designed in the 1970s and is still the most efficient manned Earth-to-orbit vehicle available. However, operation of the Space Shuttle costs much more than planned. For future space missions, a new transportation system is desired to improve the operability and costs. The primary purpose of this study was to consider

Computer-assisted single-stage cranioplasty

2015 37th Annual International Conference of the IEEE Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society (EMBC), 2015
Cranioplasty treats and repairs cranial defects with a custom craniofacial implant (CCI). Typically, surgeons know the defect size prior to surgery. Recent efforts consider single-stage cranioplasty-performing the bony resection and fixating the CCI in a single operation.

The Nasolabial Flap as a Single-Stage Procedure

Archives of Dermatology, 1990
The nasolabial flap is a useful reconstructive technique for the repair of defects on the nose. An improved technique used in 32 patients is presented, which allows use of this procedure as a single-stage rather than the more commonly seen two-stage procedure.

Single-Stage, Autologous Breast Restoration

Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, 2001
The skin-sparing mastectomy, when performed with immediate reconstruction, is a major advance in breast reconstruction. Traditionally, reconstruction of the nipple-areola complex is performed as a subsequent procedure. In this study, 17 patients (mean age, 43 years; range, 35 to 53 years) underwent one-stage breast and nipple-areola reconstruction over
