Extracellular Vesicles Modulation by an Adiponectin Receptor Agonist Provides Cardioprotection for Myocardial Ischemic Injury

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
This study demonstrates that ALY688, a drug mimicking the heart‐protective hormone adiponectin, reduces myocardial ischemia injury. ALY688 increases the production of extracellular vesicles, which carry protective cargo including adiponectin itself.

Physicochemical Reinforcement Unlocks Sterilization‐Stable Anisotropic Hydrogels for Cell‐Compatible Mock Arteries

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT In vitro arterial models offer ethical and robust alternatives for vascular research but require cytocompatible materials that replicate physiological mechanics. Poly(vinyl alcohol) (PVA) hydrogels produced by directional freezing and salting‐out (PVA DFSO) are anisotropic yet lack stability for cell culture. Herein, methacrylated PVA (PVA‐MA)

Angiographic enigma: A single coronary artery with the right coronary artery originating from the distal left circumflex artery

open access: yesHeart Views, 2015
An isolated single coronary artery (SCA) is a rare anomaly. A SCA originating from the left sinus of Valsalva is even rarer than one arising from the right. Most patients with a congenital coronary artery anomaly are asymptomatic.

Coronary artery disease with single coronary artery.

open access: yesThe Yale journal of biology and medicine, 1977
The authors have reviewed the literature in search of the coexistence of single coronary artery with significant coronary artery disease. Two cases of single right coronary artery are described. In both, the anomalies were unsuspected and diagnosed roentgenographically in life.

A Nano‐Interception Strategy for Chronic Heart Failure: Prussian Blue Nanoparticles Disrupt Fibroblast‐Immune Communication via CCL2 Sequestration

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
A nano‐interception strategy disrupts pathogenic fibroblast–macrophage crosstalk in chronic heart failure. Scalable Prussian blue nanoparticles selectively sequester CCL2 via ultrahigh‐affinity binding, preventing CCR2+ macrophage recruitment and breaking a key fibro‐inflammatory circuit. This approach demonstrates robust efficacy in murine and porcine

Image-based Quantification of 3D Morphology for Bifurcations in the Left Coronary Artery: Application to Stent Design [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Background Improved strategies for stent‐based treatment of coronary artery disease at bifurcations require a greater understanding of artery morphology.

Outcomes of non-invasive diagnostic modalities for the detection of coronary artery disease: network meta-analysis of diagnostic randomised controlled trials [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Objective: To evaluate differences in downstream testing, coronary revascularisation, and clinical outcomes following non-invasive diagnostic modalities used to detect coronary artery disease. Design: Systematic review and network meta-analysis.

Arterial Switch Operations for Single Coronary Artery Ostium or Intramural Coronary Artery

open access: yesCirculation Journal, 2004
Successful transfer of the coronary arteries is the most critical step during arterial switch operations for patients with transposition of the great arteries with a single coronary artery ostium and/or intramural coronary arteries. Various techniques have been reported and the present study was an evaluation of them in 10 neonatal patients.Coronary ...

Recent Advances in Electrospun Nanofibers for Triboelectric Nanogenerators: Performance Enhancement Strategies and Emerging Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
This review highlights recent advances in electrospun nanofiber‐based triboelectric nanogenerators, emphasizing how material design, fiber architecture, and interface engineering collectively enhance output performance and mechanical durability. Key developments in porous, aligned, core‐shell, and hierarchical nanofibers are discussed alongside ...
