Abstract. Three cases of single coronary artery are reported. All had bicuspid aortic valves and one case also a ventricular septal defect. A 24‐year‐old woman had suffered from angina pectoris from the age of 16. Over the last years electrocardiographic signs of progressive myocardial ischemia and an additional right bundle branch block have ...

Although traditionally regarded as a minor congenital variation, a reconsideration of the single coronary artery anomaly indicates the potentially profound clinical significance of this entity--notably the consequences of coronary artery disease, the risk of sudden death at an early age, and the technical difficulties presented in cardiac surgery.

Single Coronary Artery with Aortic Regurgitation
CardioVascular and Interventional Radiology, 2003An isolated single coronary artery can be associated with normal life expectancy; however, patients are at an increased risk of sudden death. A case is reported of a 54-year-old man with several months of chest pressure with activity. On exercise Sestamibi stress testing, the patient developed a hypotensive response with no symptoms and minimal ...

A single coronary artery is a rare abnormality of the coronary circulation (0.09% in the authors' experience), a fortuitous finding on coronary angiography. The authors report three new cases of this abnormality, including one with a ventricular septal defect and another with ischaemic heart disease. Exercise stress testing was positive in two patients.

Single coronary artery is a fairly rare entity which may nevertheless be found in 0.4 per cent of coronary arteriograms. The authors report 3 cases seen in 2 departments of cardiology. In each patient, despite the existence of definite cardiovascular risk factors, this distribution was a factor worsening coronary ischemia, leading to complete ...
