A synthetic benzoxazine dimer derivative targets c‐Myc to inhibit colorectal cancer progression

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Benzoxazine dimer derivatives bind to the bHLH‐LZ region of c‐Myc, disrupting c‐Myc/MAX complexes, which are evaluated from SAR analysis. This increases ubiquitination and reduces cellular c‐Myc. Impairing DNA repair mechanisms is shown through proteomic analysis.

Single Crystal Membranes [PDF]

open access: yes
Single crystal a- and c-axis tubes and ribbons of sodium beta-alumina and sodium magnesium beta-alumina were grown from sodium oxide rich melts. Additional experiments grew ribbon crystals containing sodium magnesium beta, beta double prime, beta triple ...

The neural crest‐associated gene ERRFI1 is involved in melanoma progression and resistance toward targeted therapy

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
ERRFI1, a neural crest (NC)‐associated gene, was upregulated in melanoma and negatively correlated with the expression of melanocytic differentiation markers and the susceptibility of melanoma cells toward BRAF inhibitors (BRAFi). Knocking down ERRFI1 significantly increased the sensitivity of melanoma cells to BRAFi.

Causes analysis on cracks in nickel-based single crystal superalloy fabricated by laser powder deposition additive manufacturing

open access: yesMaterials & Design, 2018
Additive manufacturing is an advanced forming method to fabricate complex components, while cracks appear in the deposited nickel-based single crystal superalloy samples undesirably.

Cytoplasmic p21 promotes stemness of colon cancer cells via activation of the NFκB pathway

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Cytoplasmic p21 promotes colorectal cancer stem cell (CSC) features by destabilizing the NFκB–IκB complex, activating NFκB signaling, and upregulating BCL‐xL and COX2. In contrast to nuclear p21, cytoplasmic p21 enhances spheroid formation and stemness transcription factor CD133.

Crystal Growth and Spectroscopy of Yb2+-Doped CsI Single Crystal

open access: yesCrystals
The single crystals of CsI-Yb2+ were grown, and their spectroscopic studies were conducted. The observed luminescence in CsI-Yb2+ is due to 5d–4f transitions in Yb2+ ions.

Current situation of research on test methods for elastic modulus and Poisson’s ratio of single crystal superalloys

open access: yesJournal of Aeronautical Materials, 2019
In view of the anisotropic characteristics of elastic constants of single crystal superalloys and other materials, this paper summarizes two main existing testing methods for measuring elastic moduli and Poisson’s ratio of single crystal superalloys ...

Dual targeting of RET and SRC synergizes in RET fusion‐positive cancer cells

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Despite the strong activity of selective RET tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKIs), resistance of RET fusion‐positive (RET+) lung cancer and thyroid cancer frequently occurs and is mainly driven by RET‐independent bypass mechanisms. Son et al. show that SRC TKIs significantly inhibit PAK and AKT survival signaling and enhance the efficacy of RET TKIs in ...

Realizing quantum controlled phase-flip gate through quantum dot in silicon slow-light photonic crystal waveguide

open access: yes, 2008
We propose a scheme to realize controlled phase gate between two single photons through a single quantum dot in slow-light silicon photonic crystal waveguide.

Plecstatin inhibits hepatocellular carcinoma tumorigenesis and invasion through cytolinker plectin

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The ruthenium‐based metallodrug plecstatin exerts its anticancer effect in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) primarily through selective targeting of plectin. By disrupting plectin‐mediated cytoskeletal organization, plecstatin inhibits anchorage‐dependent growth, cell polarization, and tumor cell dissemination.
