Creep deformation modelling of superalloy single crystals
Acta Materialia, 2000Abstract A model of creep deformation in arbitrarily oriented nickel-base superalloy single crystals has been developed. This model extends the preceding model of the present authors [Svoboda, J. and Lukas, P., Acta mater. , 1998, 46 , 3421] covering the case of creep in 〈001〉 oriented crystals.

Recrystallisation of single crystal superalloy CMSX–4
Materials Science and Technology, 2003AbstractA series of experiments investigating the recrystallisation of single crystal superalloy CMSX-4 have been carried out. Indentation atroom temperature has been used to study the effects of annealing time and temperature, and it has been found that a very strong dependence upon temperature is evident.

Directionally Solidified and Single-Crystal Superalloys
1990Abstract Directionally solidified (DS) and single-crystal (SX) superalloys and process technology are contributing to significant advances in turbine engine efficiency and durability. These gains are expected to arise from the development of higher creep strength and improved oxidation-resistant SX alloy compositions as well as from the ...

Advanced materials such as single crystal superalloys (SCSs) are made especially for high temperature uses, including turbine engines in the aerospace and electricity generation companies. Their single crystalline shape, which distinguishes their microstructures, confers superior mechanical behaviours, including remarkable fatigue strength and creep ...

Anisotropic Creep of Single Crystal Superalloys
2001Single crystal Ni-base superalloys are an integral feature of modern gas turbine engines. Their excellent high temperature tensile properties are a result of a number of factors including an absence of grain boundaries and a matrix which comprises a high volume fraction of cuboidal γ’ in a solid solution strengthened γ matrix.

Segregation in Single-Crystal Nickel-Base Superalloys
Defect and Diffusion Forum, 2011The effect and the ways of removal of the segregation of alloying elements within the dendrite cell in single-crystal nickel-base superalloys are discussed. The peculiar features of Re and Ru behavior are underlined.

HIGH TEMPERATURE FATIGUE IN SINGLE CRYSTAL SUPERALLOYS
Fatigue & Fracture of Engineering Materials & Structures, 1997Abstract— The growth rate of fatigue cracks in two single crystal nickel base superalloys, CMSX‐6 and SRR99, along the <001> planes are presented and rationalised in terms of two interacting crack propagation mechanisms: one attributed to crack tip plastic blunting and the other attributed to the brittle failure of the oxide scales.

Recycled Applications of a Single Crystal Superalloy
Advanced Materials Research, 2011The effects of application of recycled scraps on the composition, microstructure and mechanical properties of SRR99 alloy were studied. The compositions of recycle master alloy are similar to that of the fresh alloy. However, nitrogen content, the size and amount of microporosity increase significantly with the recycle material proportion.

Strengthening Mechanisms in Some Single-Crystal Superalloys
Materials Science Forum, 2005The creep behavior and microstructure of several nickel-base single-crystal superalloys after high-temperature low-stress creep have been investigated. These alloys were designed with varying content of the alloying elements Mo and Ru. At 1100°C and 137 MPa, the large g/g¢ lattice misfit in negative with the addition of Mo leads to the formation of ...
