Surface Functionalization Modulates Collective Cell Behavior Near Topological Defects Induced by Topographical Patterning

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
Strongly adhered cells align with concentric circular ridges and exhibit predominantly tangential motion, whereas weakly adhered cells fail to follow topographical guidance and display enhanced radial inward motion. ABSTRACT Living cells establish long‐range orientational order through collective alignment, giving rise to topological defects whose ...

Life‐Like Ferrous Oxide Microspheres from Kombucha

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
Kombucha bacterial cellulose, sodium alginate, and ferrous nitrate self‐assemble into membrane‐enclosed iron oxide microspheres. These microspheres bud daughter vesicles, sustain 24‐h electrochemical oscillations, and filter theta‐band signals.

Determination of non-invasive viability markers for human embryos in in vitro fertilization. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
The major challenge currently facing human in vitro fertilization (IVF) programs is the prevention of multiple gestation pregnancies. The replacement of multiple embryos to fertility patients is common practice to increase pregnancy rates.

Reduced Graphene Oxide Enhances the Vascular Organization and Contractile Performance of Fibrin‐Gelatin‐Based Engineered Cardiac Tissue

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
Fibrin–gelatin hydrogels functionalized with reduced graphene oxide create a mechanically stable and bioactive 3D environment for engineered cardiac tissue. The composite matrix promotes endothelial lumen formation, enhances sarcomeric protein expression, and increases contractile performance of embedded cardiomyocytes.

Impact of the mandatory age-based single-embryo transfer legislation in Turkey on outcome of in vitro fertilization:a multicentre study

open access: yes, 2013
733 - 738This study in Turkey evaluated the impact of age-based mandatory single-embryo transfer [SET] legislation with the subsequent increase in frozen-thawed embryo transfer [FT-ET] on pregnancy outcome of in vitrofertilization [IVF] patients. SET, FT-

Endometrial pattern predicts pregnancy outcome in single‐blastocyst frozen‐embryo transfer: An analysis of 1383 cycles

open access: yes
Purpose Several studies investigated endometrial patterns, with respect to pregnancy rates following the transfer of embryos but did not distinguish between single‐ and multiple‐blastocyst procedures.

A Critical Review on the Evolution of Chitosan‐Based Injectable Hydrogels in Bone Regeneration

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
The graphical illustration depicts hydrogel formulation using chitosan and biocompatible cross‐linkers, major advantages, and incorporation of cells, osteoinductive factors, and therapeutic drugs. Following injection, pH‐responsive gelation enables controlled drug release, promotes cell recruitment and osteogenic differentiation, enhances extracellular
