Variational Regularized Single Image Dehazing
2020Dehazing from a single hazy image has been a crucial task for both computer vision and computational photography applications. While various methods have been proposed in the past decades, estimation of the transmission map remains a challenging problem due to its ill-posed nature.

Single Remote Sensing Image Dehazing
IEEE Geoscience and Remote Sensing Letters, 2014Remote sensing images are widely used in various fields. However, they usually suffer from the poor contrast caused by haze. In this letter, we propose a simple, but effective, way to eliminate the haze effect on remote sensing images. Our work is based on the dark channel prior and a common haze imaging model.

Detail-preserving single nighttime image dehazing
Journal of Electronic Imaging, 2020Most existing dehazing approaches employ image priors such as a dark channel prior, which may be violated in the nighttime. In addition, these approaches perform dehazing directly on the original hazy image, which usually results in detail blurring and noise amplifying.

Adaptive dehazing control factor based fast single image dehazing
Multimedia Tools and Applications, 2019The single image dehazing is performed using atmospheric scattering model (ASM). The ASM is based on transmission and atmospheric light. Thus, accurate estimation of transmission is essential for quality single image dehazing. Single image dehazing is of prime focus in research nowadays.

Single Image Dehazing via Image Generating
2018Outdoor images taken in bad weather conditions often suffer from poor visibility. However, single image haze removal is an ill-posed problem, because the number of the equations is smaller than the number of unknowns. In this paper, a deep learning-based method, called Dehaze CNN, is proposed to estimate a clear image patch from a hazy image patch ...

Single Image Dehazing Using Color Ellipsoid Prior
IEEE Transactions on Image Processing, 2018In this paper, we propose a new single-image dehazing method. The proposed method constructs color ellipsoids that are statistically fitted to haze pixel clusters in RGB space and then calculates the transmission values through color ellipsoid geometry.

Local albedo-insensitive single image dehazing
The Visual Computer, 2010In this paper, we present a new algorithm to remove haze from a single image. The proposed algorithm extracts transmission iteratively under the assumption that large-scale chromaticity variations are due to transmission while small-scale luminance variations are due to scene albedo.

Gray projection for single image dehazing
2018 33rd Youth Academic Annual Conference of Chinese Association of Automation (YAC), 2018Restoration of hazy image is an important issue in outdoor vision system. To accelerate the processing speed, a fast single image dehazing method is proposed based on the atmospheric scattering model and gray projection. In this method the transmission map is estimated roughly using minimum filtering which is based on dark channel prior and refined ...

Deep Learning Based Single Image Dehazing
2018 IEEE/CVF Conference on Computer Vision and Pattern Recognition Workshops (CVPRW), 2018This paper proposes a novel approach to remove haze degradations in RGB images using a stacked conditional Generative Adversarial Network (GAN). It employs a triplet of GAN to remove the haze on each color channel independently. A multiple loss functions scheme, applied over a conditional probabilistic model, is proposed.

Improved single image dehazing using segmentation
2010 IEEE International Conference on Image Processing, 2010In the hazy weather, the image of outdoor scene is degraded by suspended particles. Scattering and absorption hinder scene radiance and bring in environment light into camera. In this work, a novel algorithm is introduced to restore the clear day image by the segmented hazy image.
