Measurement of Single Jersey Fabric Stiffness : A Simple Method

Textile Research Journal, 1978
A method of measuring the bending length of limp and/or curly fabrics is described. The method is based on Peirce's Heart-Loop test. Results obtained on a set of 12 knit fabrics correlate extremely well with sensory assessments of the bending stiffness. No difficulty was experienced in handling and measuring loose fabrics, and no systematic errors were

Finite element simulation of ballistic impact on single jersey knit fabric

Composite Structures, 2017
Abstract Knitted fabrics are constructed from interlocking loops of yarn. Curvature in the yarn provides stretchability, making them well suited for garments that will cover areas of the body that require large relative motion. Although most current soft armors are composed of woven textiles, knitted fabrics made of aramid fibers such as Kevlar may ...

Identification of Single and Double Jersey Fabrics Using Proximal Support Vector Machine

2014
Single and double jersey knitted fabrics are different in many aspects, but it is difficult to identify them in open eye, and in textile industry, it is essential to identify them automatically. So far, no hands-on state-of-the-art technology has been adopted for identification of single and double jersey fabrics. This novel work endeavors to recognize

Effects of yarn properties on aerosol filtration performance of single jersey fabrics

Textile Research Journal
A pandemic caused by airborne pathogens raises a great need for N95 respirators and surgical masks. Subsequently, the risk of undersupply becomes a primary challenge requiring the prioritization of those masks for healthcare workers. Health agencies recommend wearing cloth masks in low-risk groups to reduce the demand.

Prediction of air permeability of single jersey cotton fabrics related to pressure difference

2017
Airpermeability has an important role among clothing comfort characteristics andit is a complex feature that is affected by many parameters. It makes heattransfer easier besides more comfortable feeling due to high breathability. Theaim of this study was the prediction of air permeability by both fabricproperties and pressure drop.

Investigation of Dimensional Parameters of Single Jersey Fabrics and Prediction of Dimensional Variation.

2017
In the current study, dimensional parameter values of single jersey fabrics produced by ring, compact and open-end rotor yarns with different tightness were investigated. In order to predict the dimensional variations, some equations were established and produced fabrics were subjected to full relaxation process.
