Remote Assessment of Ataxia Severity in SCA3 Across Multiple Centers and Time Points

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Spinocerebellar ataxia type 3 (SCA3) is a genetically defined ataxia. The Scale for Assessment and Rating of Ataxia (SARA) is a clinician‐reported outcome that measures ataxia severity at a single time point. In its standard application, SARA fails to capture short‐term fluctuations, limiting its sensitivity in trials.

Switchable Dual-Wavelength Fiber Laser with Narrow-Linewidth Output Based on Parity-Time Symmetry System and the Cascaded FBG

open access: yesPhotonics
In this paper, a dual-wavelength narrow-linewidth fiber laser based on parity-time (PT) symmetry theory is proposed and experimentally demonstrated. The PT-symmetric filter system consists of two optical couplers (OCs), four polarization controllers (PCs)

Multi-path entanglement of two photons

open access: yes, 2009
We present a novel optical device based on an integrated system of micro-lenses and single mode optical fibers. It allows to collect and direct into many modes two photons generated by spontaneous parametric down conversion.

Clustering Algorithm Reveals Dopamine‐Motor Mismatch in Cognitively Preserved Parkinson's Disease

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective To explore the relationship between dopaminergic denervation and motor impairment in two de novo Parkinson's disease (PD) cohorts. Methods n = 249 PD patients from Parkinson's Progression Markers Initiative (PPMI) and n = 84 from an external clinical cohort.

A Novel Laser Mode Identification Method Based on Wavemeter Interference Fringe and Machine Learning

open access: yesApplied Sciences
In many laser application scenarios, concentrated optical energy, high coherence, and narrow spectral linewidth are critical optical characteristics that ensure the excellent performance of lasers.

Longitudinal dynamics with rf phase modulation in the Brazilian electron storage ring

open access: yesPhysical Review Special Topics. Accelerators and Beams, 2006
In the Brazilian synchrotron light source (LNLS—Laboratório Nacional de Luz Síncrotron), we observed that modulating the phase of the accelerating fields at approximately twice the synchrotron frequency suppressed remarkably well a longitudinal coupled ...

Brainstem and Cerebellar Volume Loss and Associated Clinical Features in Progressive Supranuclear Palsy

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Introduction Progressive Supranuclear Palsy (PSP) is a neurodegenerative ‘tauopathy’ with predominating pathology in the basal ganglia and midbrain. Caudal tau spread frequently implicates the cerebellum; however, the pattern of atrophy remains equivocal.

Continuous-wave operation of InGaN tunable single-mode laser with periodically slotted structure

open access: yesApplied Physics Express
By introducing wavelength tunability, InGaN single longitudinal mode lasers can be used for pumping wavelength conversion devices with a small pump wavelength tolerance. A 405 nm InGaN tunable slotted laser was designed and fabricated by a simple process
