A single longitudinal mode (SLM) fiber ring laser based on a semicircular single mode fiber (SSMF) structure is proposed. In the fiber ring laser, a piece of erbium doped fiber (EDF) pumped by a 980 nm semiconductor laser diode (LD) through a wavelength division multiplexer (WDM).A fiber Bragg grating (FBG) is used as a filter.

RTP Q-switched single-longitudinal-mode Nd:YAG laser with a twisted-mode cavity

This paper describes a high pulse repetition frequency Nd:YAG twisted-mode laser that uses an RTP crystal as the electro-optic Q-switch. Stable single-longitudinal-mode laser beams at 1, 5, and 10 kHz were obtained with a linewidth less than 0.1 GHz.

Low-order longitudinal modes of single-component plasmas

The low-order modes of spheroidal, pure electron plasmas have been studied experimentally, both in a cylindrical electrode structure and in a quadrupole trap. Comparison is made between measurements of mode frequencies, recent analytical theories, and numerical simulations.
