Role of the Recombination Zone in Organic Light‐Emitting Devices

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
This review summarizes the critical role of the recombination zone in organic light‐emitting diodes (OLEDs). We highlight that broadening the recombination zone in OLEDs based on emissive layers with balanced charge transport and high photoluminescence quantum yields provides a promising route toward achieving both long operational lifetime and high ...

Leaftronics: Bio‐Fractal Scaffolds From Leaf Venation for Low‐Waste Electronics

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
“Leaftronics” transforms naturally evolved leaf venation into quasi‐fractal scaffolds for sustainable electronics. Polymer‐infiltrated leaf skeletons can be used to fabricate ultra‐smooth, reflow‐ and thin‐film‐compatible decomposable substrates, while making the same lignocellulose networks conducting results in flexible transparent electrodes.

The European single market: bad news for developing countries? [PDF]

open access: yes
Developing Countries have been particularly worried by the single-market-program since the EC absorbs more than a third of their total exports. At present, fears of a Fortress Europe and negative net trade effects for DCs appear to be unfounded, however.

Electrolyte Engineering Challenges and Opportunities for Next‐Generation Aqueous Ammonium‐Ion Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Aqueous ammonium‐ion batteries (AAIBs) face a hydrogen‐bond paradox: the HB network enables fast NH4+ transport but triggers water decomposition. This review dissects this dilemma, evaluates multiple electrolyte engineering strategies, and outlines four future directions for next‐generation AAIB design ABSTRACT Aqueous ammonium‐ion batteries (AAIBs ...

The single European market - a Schumpeterian event? [PDF]

open access: yes
It is now four years after the White Paper launched the project on the completion of the internal market [Commission, 1985]. 300 steps were packaged and sold in a manner by Delors and Lord Cockfield that "caught on". The basic strategy is simple: abolish
