Unusual Polarization Relation between Single-Mode Lasing Emission and Excitation Laser from an Evanescent-Wave Pumped Micro-Cavity Laser

open access: yesPhotonics, 2021
Using a fiber of that is 125 μm in diameter in rhodamine 6G ethanol solution, controllable multi- and single-whispering-gallery-mode (WGM) optofluidic lasers based on evanescent-wave-coupled gain are both available.

Low-Threshold 795 nm Oxide-Confined Distributed Feedback Lasers With Surface Gratings

open access: yesIEEE Photonics Journal, 2023
795 nm oxide-confined distributed feedback (DFB) lasers have been developed. The oxide-confined structure is used to realize lateral optical and current confinement, and the first-order surface gratings offer the frequency selectivity for single ...

Evaluating single-mode nonclassicality [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review A, 2020
Quantifying nonclassicality of a bosonic mode is an important but challenge task in quantum optics. Recently, the first nonclassicality measure based on the concept of operational resource theory has been proposed [Phys. Rev. Research 2, 023400 (2020)], which shows several crucial properties as a resource for quantum metrology.

New Design of Optical Filters Based on Single Mode-Multimode-Single Mode Fiber Structure for Optical Fiber Communication Systems [PDF]

open access: yesEngineering and Technology Journal, 2011
In this paper, a design of optical filters based on single mode-multimode-single mode fiber structure (SMS) is demonstrated. The multimode interference effect can be utilized to design wavelength-selective devices with high extinction ratio. The proposed

Single-Mode ZBLAN Fiber Couplers [PDF]

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences, 2022
We demonstrate single-mode ZBLAN optical fiber couplers. A controlled tapering procedure leads to coupling ratios of 5%/95% and 14%/86% at a wavelength of 2200 nm, with insertion losses of 1.6 dB and 1.8 dB, respectively.

Single-mode displacement sensor [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review A, 2017
We show that one can determine both parameters of a displacement acting on an oscillator with an accuracy which scales inversely with the square root of the number of photons in the oscillator. Our results are obtained by using a grid state as a sensor state for detecting small translations in phase space (displacements).
