Field-Induced Single Molecule Magnets of Phosphine- and Arsine-Oxides
The coordination chemistry of dysprosium and terbium toward phosphine and arsine oxides was further explored. Thus, the new nitrate [M(NO3)3(Ph3PO)3] (M = Tb, 1; Dy, 2), [Dy(NO3)3(EtOH)(Ph3XO)2] (X = P, 3; As, 4), chloride [DyCl2(Ph3AsO)4]Cl (5 ...

New Materials and Effects in Molecular Nanomagnets
Molecular magnets are a relatively new class of purely organic or metallo-organic materials, showing magnetism even without an external magnetic field. This interdisciplinary field between chemistry and physics has been gaining increased interest since ...

Origin of the anomalously low Raman exponents in single molecule magnets
The Raman exponent of single molecular magnetic relaxation may take various unexpected values because of rich phonon spectra and spin-phonon coupling of molecular crystals.

A cationic and ferromagnetic hexametallic Mn(III) single-molecule magnet based on the salicylamidoxime ligand [PDF]
The salicylamidoxime-based complex [Mn-6(mu(3)-O)(2)(N-H2-sao)(6)(py)(6)(EtOH)(2)](ClO4)(2)center dot 4EtOH (1.4EtOH) constitutes the first example of a cationic and ferromagnetic member of the oxime-based family of [Mn-6(III)] single-molecule magnets.

Cobalt single-molecule magnet [PDF]
A cobalt molecule that functions as a single-molecule magnet, [Co4(hmp)4(MeOH)4Cl4], where hmp− is the anion of hydroxymethylpyridine, is reported. The core of the molecule consists of four Co(II) cations and four hmp− oxygen atom ions at the corners of a cube.

We synthesized the dinuclear and mononuclear dysprosium(III) complexes [{Dy(Tp)2}2(Cl2An)]·2CH2Cl2 (1) and [Co(Cp)2][Dy(Tp)2(Cl2An)] (3), where Cl2An2− and Tp− are the chloranilate and hydrotris(pyrazolyl)borate ligand, respectively.

Mn-doped II-VI quantum dots: artificial molecular magnets [PDF]
The notion of artifical atom relies on the capability to change the number of carriers one by one in semiconductor quantum dots, and the resulting changes in their electronic structure.

Dysprosium Single-Molecule Magnets Involving 1,10-Phenantroline-5,6-dione Ligand
The two mononuclear complexes of the formula [Dy(tta)3(L)] (1) and [Dy(hfac)3(L)] (2) (where tta- = 2-thenoytrifluoroacetylacetonate and hfac- = 1,1,1,5,5,5-hexafluoroacetylacetonate) were obtained from the coordination reaction of the Dy(tta)3·2H2O or ...
