Single photon production by rephased amplified spontaneous emission

open access: yesNew Journal of Physics, 2014
The production of single photons using rephased amplified spontaneous emission is examined. This process produces single photons on demand with high efficiency by detecting the spontaneous emission from an atomic ensemble, then applying a population ...

Evaluation of Parameters Effect in Multiphoton Quantum Key Distribution Over Fiber Optic

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2018
BB84 is a single photon that has been widely used since 1984 as the unconditional security of key distribution. Recently, the idea of multiphoton QKD was proposed to exchange the key using the rotational of polarization by over multi-stages protocol.

High Purcell factor photonic crystal cavities for single photon sources [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
Enhancement of spontaneous emission is of crucial importance in the design of high efficiency single photon sources. This can be achieved by creating defect cavities with both high Q and small effective mode volume, which results in a high Purcell factor.

Mutant p53R273H disrupts PDPK1 homodimerization and contributes to PDPK1 activation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
How mutant p53R273H drives AKT signaling is unclear. We show that p53R273H, but not wild‐type, directly binds PDPK1 via a mutation‐dependent conformational change. This interaction disrupts inhibitory PDPK1 homodimerization and enhances AKT phosphorylation.

Enhancement of Single-Photon Emission Rate from InGaAs/GaAs Quantum-Dot/Nanowire Heterostructure by Wire-Groove Nanocavity

open access: yesNanomaterials, 2019
Spontaneous emission of luminescent material is strongly dependent on the surrounding electromagnetic environment. To enhance the emission rate of a single-photon emitter, we proposed a wire-groove resonant nanocavity around the single-photon emitter. An

Modelling the polarisation mode control of single quantum-dot emission in elliptical micro-pillar microcavities based on DBR mirror pairs using the FDTD method [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
We use the finite difference time domain method (FDTD) to investigate polarisation control of single-photon emission from single quantum dots confined in elliptical micro-pillar microcavities.

Raman‐based label‐free microscopic analysis of the pancreas in living zebrafish larvae

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Forward stimulated Raman scattering (F‐SRS) and epi coherent anti‐Stokes Raman scattering (E‐CARS) allow label‐free discrimination of distinct subcellular structures in the pancreas of living zebrafish larvae. Given the straightforward applicability, we anticipate broad implementation of Raman microscopy in other organs and across various biomedical ...

Solid-state single photon sources: the nanowire antenna [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
International audienceWe design several single-photon-sources based on the emission of a quantum dot embedded in a semiconductor (GaAs) nanowire. Through various taper designs, we engineer the nanowire ends to realize efficient metallic-dielectric ...

Optimizing photoactivation of PA‐mCherry for optical pooled CRISPR screens

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Photoactivatable PA‐mCherry finds widespread use to optically tag individual cells. However, confocal 405 nm UV laser‐scanning (normal scan) is much less efficient than widefield UV illumination, limiting the use of PA‐mCherry on confocal instruments. We remedy this limitation by reporting that rapid and repeated confocal scanning with a low‐intensity,
