Nondestructive Methods For Inspection Of Seams Of Single-Ply Roofing Membranes

SPIE Proceedings, 1987
Investigations were conducted regarding the use of the ultrasonic pulse echo and the infrared thermography nondestructive evaluation (NDE) methods for detecting voids and delaminations in adhesive-bonded seams of single-ply roofing membranes. Previous studies had indicated that these defects could be detected using the two NDE methods.

Evaluation of Air Leakage Properties of Seam-Fastened Mechanically Attached Single-Ply and Polymer-Modified Bitumen Roof Membrane Assemblies

2015
The National Research Council of Canada (NRCC) in collaboration with the Canadian Roofing Contractors Association (CRCA), National Roofing Contractors Association (NRCA), Roofing Industry Alliance for Progress, and the Single-Ply Roofing Institute (SPRI) addressed the issue of air movement in roof assemblies through a research and development project ...

Further investigation of the effect of application parameters on adhesive-bonded seams of single-ply roof membranes

Materials and Structures, 1988
A laboratory study was conducted to determine if a T-peel test was sensitive to differences in initial (7 days) bond strength for adhesive-bonded seams of EPDM (ethylene propylene diene terpolymer) rubber membranes made under different application conditions. The main categories of application parameters investigated were: surface condition (cleanness,

Performance Study of Single Ply Roof Membranes in the Northeast United States

1990
Single Ply roof membranes have been in extensive use inthe Northeast Region of the United States for a period of over twelve years. Although numerous systems and application procedures have been employed there has been limited publication of field performance data on in-situ systems.

Wind Resistance of Loose-Laid and Spot-Attached Single-Ply Roofing Membranes

1982
Wind tunnel and current simulated uplift tests can be used to evaluate mechanically spot-attached single-ply membrane roofing systems if existing criteria for failure are modified. Tests indicate that these systems can be designed for use under very high wind conditions.
