Generalized Optimization of Counter-Rotating and Single-Rotating Fans
Volume 1A: Aircraft Engine; Fans and Blowers, 2014On possible fan concept for future high and ultra-high bypass ratio turbofan engines is the counter-rotating (CR) fan. Several studies [1][2][3][4] dealt already with the optimization of CR fans, however the mass flow and the total pressure ratio were typically given and fixed for a specified application.

Rotational Lande factors of single rotational states in bromine
Journal of Physics B: Atomic and Molecular Physics, 1981Individual rotational levels in the B3 Pi 0+u state of 79Br2 and 81Br2 were excited by an acousto-optically chopped, single-mode Ar+ laser. The intensity of the fluorescent light, measured as a function of time following the laser pulses, was found to exhibit Zeeman quantum beats.

Rotation Restricted Emission and Antenna Effect in Single Metal-Organic Frameworks.
Journal of the American Chemical Society, 2019Aggregation induced-emission (AIE) and antenna effects are important luminescence behaviors. Thus, investigating their emission mechanisms and revealing their behaviors have become critical but challenging.

Single-cell 3D electro-rotation
2018Single-cell rotation is a fundamental manipulation used in a wide range of biotechnological applications such as cell injection and enucleation. However, there are currently few methods for the 3D rotation of single cells. Here, this chapter presents different biochip platforms based on a dielectrophoresis technique to achieve 3D rotation.

Round rotational single sheet tester for rotational core loss measurements
2017 International Conference on Smart Systems and Technologies (SST), 2017This paper describes the procedure for measurement of the rotational core losses in electrical machines with an experimental setup made from a modified induction machine stator that is turned into round rotational single sheet tester. The differences between the similar apparatus and the problems caused by the specimen shapes and power supply harmonics

Frustrated Rotations in Single-Molecule Junctions
Journal of the American Chemical Society, 2009We compare the conductance of 1,4-bis(methylthio)benzene with that of 2,3,6,7-tetrahydrobenzo[1,2-b:4,5-b']dithiophene and the conductance of 1,4-bis(methylseleno)benzene with that of 2,3,6,7-tetrahydrobenzo[1,2-b:4,5-b']diselenophene and show explicitly that the orientation of an Au-S or Au-Se bond relative to the aromatic pi system controls electron ...

Single polariton nonlinear Faraday rotation
Active Photonic Platforms XII, 2020We present the experimental observation of photon-photon interactions at the single-particle level. The linearly polarized signal beam undergoes Faraday rotation by a nonlinear effective magnetic field induced by a very weak circularly polarized control beam due to the giant Kerr-like interactions between exciton-polaritons in our quantum well-based 0D

Single-mode fiber-optical polarization rotator
Applied Optics, 1979A birefringent single-mode optical fiber is twisted mechanically in alternating sense on successive half-wave fiber sections. This arrangement, applicable in-line to a fiber, permits continuous adjustment of the state of polarization at the fiber output.

The basic principles of a single-lobe flap are discussed along with the description of a modified slide-swing rotational flap. This rotation flap is called the Schrudde flap, and it has many applications in the treatment of skin defects of the foot and ankle. This rotation skin flap procedure provides excellent end results with high patient acceptance.

A Single Plane Method of Rotation
Psychometrika, 1946The method of rotation described here is applied to one hyperplane at a time. The method seems to be simple and quite effective and it can be applied by a relatively inexperienced computer. The method does not postulate a positive manifold, and hence it is applicable also to bipolar factors.
