Thermally Activated Delayed Fluorescence in Phase‐Separated Nanostructures

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A supramolecular, phase‐separation driven strategy yields charge transfer (CT) complexes from alternating electron‐deficient pyromellitic diimide and electron‐rich 4,5‐dibromoveratrole. The resulting CT complexes self‐assemble into lamellar nanosheets with nanometer‐sized domains that exhibit thermally activated delayed fluorescence (TADF) at room ...

Singlet oxygen-mediated selective C–H bond hydroperoxidation of ethereal hydrocarbons

open access: yesNature Communications, 2017
Singlet oxygen is known to react with carbon–carbon double bonds. Here, the authors show the unusual functionalization of α-ethereal C–H bonds mediated by singlet oxygen under mild conditions to afford lactones and hydroperoxide products.

Iridium complexes for the application of photodynamic therapy

open access: yes上海师范大学学报. 自然科学版, 2015
Photodynamic therapy can destruct tumor cells by singlet oxygen which is generated via a photodynamic reaction of the photosensitizer under a specfic excitation wavelength.Due to the heavy atom effect of metal iridium, iridiumcomplexes are excited by ...

Spin‐Dependent Generation of Surface‐Bound Radicals Toward Selective and Long‐Lasting Water Purification

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study develops a novel atomic engineering strategy to fine‐tune the spin state of α‐Fe2O3 catalysts toward a medium‐spin state, thereby modulating peroxymonosulfate activation and selectively yielding surface‐bound radicals. Compared with free radicals, surface‐bound radicals exhibit moderated oxidation potential, extended lifespan, surface ...

Understanding the Role of Superhydrophobicity and Superhydrophilicity in Salt‐Spray Corrosion of Nanosecond Pulsed Laser‐Textured AA2024 Alloy

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Nanosecond pulse laser texturing yields superhydrophobic and superhydrophilic AA2024 surfaces. Salt‐spray tests show that periodic superhydrophobic patterns suppress pitting, whereas superhydrophilic textures enhance it, linking laser‐induced morphology, wettability, and oxide chemistry to corrosion resistance.

Oxidative post-translational modification of EXECUTER1 is required for singlet oxygen sensing in plastids

open access: yesNature Communications, 2019
Singlet oxygen generated by photosynthesis under photo-oxidative stress conditions triggers retrograde signaling from plastids to nuclei. Here, the authors show that singlet oxygen perception and subsequent signaling events require oxidative post ...

Solar generation and storage of O2 (a 1 delta g) [PDF]

open access: yes
An investigation was performed of the technical steps required to design a solar powered oxygen-iodine laser. Singlet delta oxygen is formed upon transfer of energy from selected photoexcited dye molecules to ground state molecular oxygen and then is ...

Triplet‐Triplet Annihilation Enhances Photochemical Curing Contrast for Vat‐Based 3D Printing

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Triplet–triplet annihilation photopolymerization (TTAP) resins enhance curing contrast for digital light processing (DLP) 3D printing compared to conventional Type I and II photopolymerizations at matched optical densities. By exploiting a superlinear initiation response, TTAP preserves fine details, allowing reliable fabrication of complex structures ...

Nonbonding oxygen holes and spinless scenario of magnetic response in doped cuprates [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
Both theoretical considerations and experimental data point to a more complicated nature of the valence hole states in doped cuprates than it is predicted by Zhang-Rice model. Actually, we deal with a competition of conventional hybrid Cu 3d-O 2p $b_{1g}\
