Ground state of naphthyl cation: Singlet or triplet?
The Journal of Chemical Physics, 2014We present a benchmark theoretical investigation on the electronic structure and singlet-triplet(S-T) gap of 1- and 2-naphthyl cations using the CCSD(T) method. Our calculations reveal that the ground states of both the naphthyl cations are singlet, contrary to the results obtained by DFT/B3LYP calculations reported in previous theoretical studies ...

Optical switching based on singlet-singlet excited state absorption
Nonlinear Optics: Materials, Fundamentals and Applications, 1996Progress in optical computing, optical communication and optical information processing depends on a large extent of the availability of fast all-optical switches. Most of the all-optical switches utilize nonlinear FP cavity1,2,3. Its absorptive loss is very large because of working on the resonant wavelength, and the switching time is districted by ...

Singlet ground state actinide chemistry with geminals
Physical Chemistry Chemical Physics, 2015We present the first application of the variationally orbital optimized antisymmetric product of 1-reference orbital geminals (vOO-AP1roG) method to singlet-state actinide chemistry.

Slow Diffusion by Singlet State NMR Spectroscopy
Journal of the American Chemical Society, 2005Small diffusion coefficients can be measured by using populations of singlet states that have a relaxation time constant, T(s), which can be much longer than the longitudinal relaxation time, T1. Spatial information can be encoded with pulsed field gradients in the manner of stimulated echo sequences.
