SOX2 bound CRMs possess cell-type-specific enhancer activity.
(A) Schematic of the zebrafish reporter system used to analyze enhancer expression. Sections of 50 hour post-fertilization zebrafish embryos from three different anterior-posterior levels (a’: midbrain, b’: pharyngesophageal endoderm, c’: spinal cord ...

Native habitat affinities predict fish invasions with post‐invasion habitat shifts
Initial invasion success is gated by native pre‐adaptations, but post‐invasion establishment is characterized by habitat shifts. We demonstrate that forecasting risk based solely on native niches severely underestimates future ecological impacts, and we provide an empirically validated watchlist of future invaders.

Bound-extended mode transition in type-II synthetic photonic Weyl heterostructures
Photonic structures with Weyl points (WPs), including type-I and type-II, promise nontrivial surface modes and intriguing light manipulations for their three-dimensional topological bands. While previous studies mainly focus on exploring WPs in a uniform

Monitoring Quality of Mafia‐Connected Accountants
ABSTRACT We investigate the monitoring quality of accountants with ties to the Mafia in their role as auditors for “clean” firms—those with no known ties to organized crime. Using a proprietary government database, we identify Italian firms with alleged ties to the Mafia through their executives, directors, or shareholders.

Moderate retention forestry creates structurally sharp forest edges that act as ecological filters, shaping orientation‐specific activity of ground‐dwelling arthropods. Using drift‐fence pitfall traps, we show that activity aligned with ecotones is more frequent than activity across forest–clearcut boundaries, particularly among detritivores.

Intra‐ and Interspecific Effects on Spatio‐Temporal Behavior of Common Commensal Rodent Species
This study revealed major findings on spatio‐temporal behavior of commensal rodents on a pig farm showing the influence of interspecific dominance on movement behavior and the resulting species‐specific ecological adaptations. Additionally, rodents tend to stay in their home ranges and migration to other stable buildings is only rare.

Barankin-Type Bound for Constrained Parameter Estimation
In constrained parameter estimation, the classical constrained Cramer-Rao bound (CCRB) and the recent Lehmann-unbiased CCRB (LU-CCRB) are lower bounds on the performance of mean-unbiased and Lehmann-unbiased estimators, respectively.

From Data to Knowledge to Wisdom: Lessons Learned From the Vancouver Rat Project
A synthesis of 15 years of research conducted by the Vancouver Rat Project revealed that: (1) Pathogen ecology within rat colonies is the result of complex interactions among rats, pathogens, and vectors. (2) Local and global population structures influence rat and pathogen ecology.
