The Singular Function Boundary Integral Method for Elliptic Problems with Boundary Singularities

We review the Singular Function Boundary Integral Method (SFBIM) for solving two-dimensional elliptic problems with boundary singularities. In this method the solution is approximated by the leading terms of the asymptotic expansion of the local solution. The unknowns to be calculated are the singular coefficients, i.e.

Boundary Layer Resolving Pseudospectral Methods for Singular Perturbation Problems

Edge distribution method for solving elliptic boundary value problems with boundary singularities

Elliptic boundary value problems are difficult to treat in the vicinity of singularities, i.e., edges and corners, of the boundary. The concentration of electrical charge on the edges and corners of a conductor is perhaps the simplest example of such problems.
