Rethinking plastic waste: innovations in enzymatic breakdown of oil‐based polyesters and bioplastics
Plastic pollution remains a critical environmental challenge, and current mechanical and chemical recycling methods are insufficient to achieve a fully circular economy. This review highlights recent breakthroughs in the enzymatic depolymerization of both oil‐derived polyesters and bioplastics, including high‐throughput protein engineering, de novo ...

Analysis of the diffuse-domain method for solving PDEs in complex geometries
In recent work, Li et al.\ (Comm.\ Math.\ Sci., 7:81-107, 2009) developed a diffuse-domain method (DDM) for solving partial differential equations in complex, dynamic geometries with Dirichlet, Neumann, and Robin boundary conditions.

Numerical Solution of Steady-State Free Boundary Problems Using the Singular Boundary Method
In this paper, the recently-developed singular boundary method is applied to address free boundary problems. This mesh-less numerical method is based on the use of the origin intensity factors with fundamental solutions. Three numerical examples and their results are compared with the results obtained using traditional methods. The comparisons indicate

Comparative analysis of chloroplast genomes from 14 genera of Thymelaeaceae revealed variation in gene content, ranging from 128 to 142 genes, primarily influenced by IR expansion/contraction events and pseudogenization of ndhF, ndhI, and ndhG. Two large inversions were detected within the large single‐copy region, including a synapomorphic inversion ...

Adaptive Non-singular Terminal Sliding Mode Control for DC-DC Converters
DC-DC converters have some inherent characteristics such as high nonlinearity and time-variation, which often result in some difficulties in designing control schemes.

In the present paper the linear theory of viscoelasticity for Kelvin–Voigt materials with double porosity is considered. Some basic properties of plane harmonic waves are established and the boundary value problems (BVPs) of steady vibrations are ...

Quantum mechanics of an electron in a homogeneous magnetic field and a singular magnetic flux tube
The eigenvalue problem of the Hamiltonian of an electron confined to a plane and subjected to a perpendicular time-independent magnetic field which is the sum of a homogeneous field and an additional field contributed by a singular flux tube, i.e.

Pathogenic Neurofibromatosis type 1 gene variants in tumors of non‐NF1 patients and role of R1276
Somatic variants of the neurofibromatosis type 1 (NF1) gene occur across neoplasms without clinical manifestation of the disease NF1. We identified emerging somatic pathogenic NF1 variants and hotspots, for example, at the arginine finger 1276. Those missense variants provide fundamental information about neurofibromin's role in cancer.

A Hybrid Boundary Element Method for Elliptic Problems with Singularities
The singularities that arise in elliptic boundary value problems are treated locally by a singular function boundary integral method. This method extracts the leading singular coefficients from a series expansion that describes the local behavior of the ...
