A Discrete Inverse Scattering Transform for Q3$_\delta$ [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
We derive a fully discrete Inverse Scattering Transform as a method for solving the initial-value problem for the Q3$_\delta$ lattice (difference-difference) equation for real-valued solutions.

Synchrotron Radiation for Quantum Technology

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Materials and interfaces underpin quantum technologies, with synchrotron and FEL methods key to understanding and optimizing them. Advances span superconducting and semiconducting qubits, 2D materials, and topological systems, where strain, defects, and interfaces govern performance.

High frequency difraction by a soft circular disc. I the plane wave at normal incidence [PDF]

open access: yes, 1971
The far scattered field off the axis of symmetry of the disc is found for a high frequency, harmonic, normally incident, plane wave. The method used is due to Jones and involves the solution of a singular integral equation of the first kind for the field

Enhancing Low‐Temperature Performance of Sodium‐Ion Batteries via Anion‐Solvent Interactions

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
DOL is introduced into electrolytes as a co‐solvent, increasing slat solubility, ion conductivity, and the de‐solvent process, and forming an anion‐rich solvent shell due to its high interaction with anion. With the above virtues, the batteries using this electrolyte exhibit excellent cycling stability at low temperatures. Abstract Sodium‐ion batteries

Cu‐Based MOF/TiO2 Composite Nanomaterials for Photocatalytic Hydrogen Generation and the Role of Copper

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
HKUST‐1/TiO2 composite materials show a very high photocatalytic hydrogen evolution rate which increases as a function of the irradiation time until reaching a plateau and even surpasses the performance of the 1%Pt/TiO2 material after three photocatalytic cycles.

Galerkin Methods for Singular Integral Equations [PDF]

open access: yesMathematics of Computation, 1981
The approximate solution of a singular integral equation by Galerkin’s method is studied. We discuss the theoretical aspects of such problems and give error bounds for the approximate solution.

Lipid Nanoparticles for the Delivery of CRISPR/Cas9 Machinery to Enable Site‐Specific Integration of CFTR and Mutation‐Agnostic Disease Rescue

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Lipid nanoparticles (LNPs) are optimized to co‐deliver Cas9‐encoding messenger RNA (mRNA), a single guide RNA (sgRNA) targeting the endogenous cystic fibrosis transmembrane conductance regulator (CFTR) gene, and homologous linear double‐stranded donor DNA (ldsDNA) templates encoding CFTR.

Volterra integral equations: the singular case

open access: yesHokkaido Mathematical Journal, 2003
The authors are concerned with the investigation of singular Volterra integral equations of the form \[ y(t)= \int^t_0 k(t, s) f(s,y(s))\,ds,\quad t\in [0,T]. \] The singularity feature appears in the nonlinearity \(f(t,y)\), which may admit a nonregular behavior at \(y= 0\).
