Remarkable Recovery After Delayed High‐Dose Methylprednisolone in a Rare Case of Penetrating Spinal Cord Injury

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Traumatic spinal cord injury (TSCI) caused by sharp‐force penetration is exceptionally rare, and the use of high‐dose methylprednisolone (MP) remains highly controversial, especially beyond the conventional 8‐h treatment window. This case report describes a 30‐year‐old male with acute incomplete TSCI following a knife stab wound to the right ...

Complete Cubic Polynomial Transformation for Regularizing Nearly Hypersingular Integrals [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Applied and Computational Mechanics
A classical problem in computational mechanics is the quadrature of nearly singular and hypersingular integrals, such as those that arise in the boundary element method (BEM) when the collocation point is near the integration element.

Numerical quadratures for singular and hypersingular integrals

open access: yes, 2001
We present a procedure for the design of high-order quadrature rules for the numerical evaluation of singular and hypersingular integrals; such integrals are frequently encountered in solution of integral equations of potential theory in two dimensions ...

On a singular integral [PDF]

open access: yesStudia Mathematica, 1987
Let n be a positive integer, and let \(R^ n\) denote the Euclidean n- dimensional space. If \(\Omega\) is homogeneous of degree 0, \(\Omega \in L^ q(S^{n-1})\), where \(q>1\) and \(\int_{S^{n-1}}\Omega d\sigma =0\), and if \(h(t)=h_ 0(| t|)\), where \(h_ 0\) is bounded, then the operator \(T^*\) is defined by \[ T^*(f)(x)=\sup_ ...

Clinical Practice Guideline for Evaluation and Management of Peripheral Nervous System Manifestations in Sjögren's Disease

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, EarlyView.
Objective Sjögren's disease is an autoimmune disorder that can impact multiple organ systems, including the peripheral nervous system (PNS). PNS manifestations, which can exist concurrently, include mononeuropathies, polyneuropathies, and autonomic nervous system neuropathies.

On a measure of non-compactness for singular integrals

open access: yesJournal of Function Spaces and Applications, 2003
It is proved that there exists no weight pair (v, w) for which a singular integral operator is compact from the weighted Lebesgue space Lwp(Rn) to Lvp(Rn). Moreover, a measure of non-compatness for this operator is estimated from below.

Revisiting Stability Criteria in Ball‐Milled High‐Entropy Alloys: Do Hume–Rothery and Thermodynamic Rules Equally Apply?

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, Volume 27, Issue 6, March 2025.
The stability criteria affecting the formation of high‐entropy alloys, particularly focusing in supersaturated solid solutions produced by mechanical alloying, are analyzed. Criteria based on Hume–Rothery rules are distinguished from those derived from thermodynamic relations. The formers are generally applicable to mechanically alloyed samples.

Singular Integrals With Rough Kernels

open access: yes, 2004
In this paper we establish the Lp boundedness of a class of singular integrals with rough kernels associated to polynomial mappings.

A Thermodynamic 3D Model for the Simulation of Diffusion‐Controlled Alloying Processes in Heterogeneous Material Structures

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A numerical model resulting from irreversible thermodynamics for describing transport processes is introduced, focusing on thermodynamic activity gradients as the actual driving force for diffusion. Implemented in CUDA C++ and using CalPhaD methods for determining the necessary activity data, the model accurately simulates interdiffusion in aluminum ...

Multidimensional singular integrals and integral equations

open access: yes, 1965
Multidimensional Singular Integrals and Integral Equations presents the results of the theory of multidimensional singular integrals and of equations containing such integrals. Emphasis is on singular integrals taken over Euclidean space or in the closed
