Hyper‐Reduced Model Based on the Proper Orthogonal Decomposition and the LU Factorization Applied to the Neutron Diffusion Eigenvalue Problem

open access: yesInternational Journal for Numerical Methods in Engineering, Volume 127, Issue 3, 15 February 2026.
ABSTRACT An efficient method for solving large eigenvalue problems efficiently can be developed using hyper‐reduced order models, such as those arising from the LU Proper Orthogonal Decomposition (LUPOD). The LUPOD employs dominant orthogonal modes along with a flexible number of collocation points to establish a reduced scalar product, thereby ...

A Novel Joint Denoising Strategy for Coherent Doppler Wind Lidar Signals

open access: yesRemote Sensing
Coherent Doppler Wind Lidar (CDWL) is an effective tool for measuring the atmospheric wind field. However, CDWL is affected by various noises, which can reduce the usable value of the received echo signal.

The Geometry of Layer 2/3 Cortical Sound Processing in Slow Wave Sleep

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 7, 3 February 2026.
Sleep is associated with a sensory disconnection whose mechanisms remain elusive. Large neuronal population recordings in the auditory cortex revealed that, in NREM sleep, the neural code for sounds is highly similar to wakefulness, but coordinated modulations of neuron responsiveness intermittently disconnect the local cortical networks from sensory ...

Deformation Prediction of 4D‐Printed Active Composite Structures Based on Data Mining

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 7, 3 February 2026.
A curvature‐driven sequence point generation (CSPG) algorithm based on data mining is proposed to predict the deformation of double‐layer voxelized composite structures of arbitrary lengths. In addition, the CSPG algorithm is applied to predict the deformation of 2D and 3D structures assembled from beam elements, and its effectiveness is validated ...

Suppressing Electron–Phonon Coupling via Solid Additives for High‐Performance Organic Solar Cells

open access: yesAggregate, Volume 7, Issue 2, February 2026.
This work highlights the importance of solid additives in suppressing the electron–phonon coupling effect as a key strategy for advancing organic photovoltaics. By suppressing electron–phonon coupling, solid additive BCN‐2 increases exciton lifetime and enhances exciton diffusion, leading to improved charge transport and a high power conversion ...

Efficient Dynamics: Reduced‐Order Modeling of the Time‐Dependent Schrödinger Equation

open access: yesAdvanced Physics Research, Volume 5, Issue 2, February 2026.
Reduced‐order modeling (ROM) approaches for the time‐dependent Schrödinger equation are investigated, highlighting their ability to simulate quantum dynamics efficiently. Proper Orthogonal Decomposition, Dynamic Mode Decomposition, and Reduced Basis Methods are compared across canonical systems and extended to higher dimensions.

Mutations Alter Conformations and Dynamics of APP‐TMDs: An RDC Analysis

open access: yesChemistryEurope, Volume 4, Issue 2, February 2026.
How γ‐secretase selects its substrates has been an enigma because of the lack of a consensus sequence. Using residual dipolar couplings, we analyzed the conformations of one substrate and two mutants. Using snapshots of a molecular dynamics trajectory, we analyzed how well structures matched the measured RDC values.

Total singular value decomposition. Robust SVD, regression and location-scale

open access: yes, 2007
Singular Value Decomposition (SVD) is the basic body of many statistical algorithms and few users question whether SVD is properly handling its job. SVD aims at evaluating the decomposition that best approximates a data matrix, given some rank restriction.

Frequency‐Domain Subspace Identification for Noninvasive Transformer Winding Parameter Estimation and Fault Diagnostics

open access: yesInternational Journal of Circuit Theory and Applications, Volume 54, Issue 2, Page 658-677, February 2026.
Noninvasive frequency‐domain method estimates transformer winding parameters from terminal measurements, eliminating the need for design data. ABSTRACT A novel frequency‐domain subspace identification method enables precise estimation of transformer winding ladder network parameters directly from terminal measurements.
