Hydrothermal Dolomite (HTD) is present in the Upper Sinian (Upper Proterozoic) Dengying Formation, east Sichuan Basin, China. The strata are comprised by primary dolomite. The HTD has various textures, including zebra dolomite, subhorizontal sheet-like cavities filled by saddle dolomite and breccias cemented by saddle dolomites as well occur as a fill ...

Characteristics and genesis of the (Sinian) Dengying Formation reservoir in Central Sichuan, China
Journal of Natural Gas Science and Engineering, 2016Abstract The Dengying Formation is an important stratum of exploration in the Gaoshiti-Moxi structure belt in the Sichuan Basin. Therefore, this study combines core, thin section, mud logging data and geochemical analysis (C, O and Sr isotopes) with seismic section data to investigate the basic characteristics and genesis of the Dengying Formation ...

Abstract: No research has been made on such a lower rank boundary as the Sinian Doushantuo Formation‐Dengying Formation boundary in the eastern region of the Yangtze Gorges. Elemental geochemical determination has revealed anomalies of REE and other trace elements around the boundary, which have relatively high contents than those in its overlying and ...

A Dynamic Classification Method of the Sinian Dengying Formation Heterogeneous Carbonate Reservoir
2020The Sinian Dengying Formation carbonate reservoir dominated by matrix pores and vugs in the Gaoshiti-Moxi area is characterized by strong heterogeneity. Such reservoirs with their tight matrix is identified as low-porosity and low-permeability, and yet with naturally-occurring fractures and dissolution vugs.

ABSTRACT According to conventional views, cracking of oil to gas is expected to occur in sedimentary petroliferous basins. The recognition of exceptionally high pressure generated as a result of this process is crucial for evaluating the accumulation and preservation conditions of natural gas in these basins, and fluid inclusions in ...

Abstract The Sichuan Basin is a typical superimposed oil- and gas-bearing basin with abundant hydrocarbon resources in deeply buried marine carbonate rocks. The petrological characteristics, origin, diagenetic evolution and controlling factors of the high-quality Sinian Dengying dolomite reservoirs were investigated based on outcrop and core ...

Abstract Reservoir solid bitumen is pervasive throughout the Sinian Dengying Formation dolomites of the Sichuan Basin and neighboring areas, yet its origin remains controversial. Optical and scanning electron microscope (SEM) studies of the Dengying Formation were carried out to elucidate the nature and origin of the solid bitumen.

Sichuan Basin is a typical superimposed basin, which experienced multi-phase tectonic movements, meanwhile Sinian–Cambrian underwent complex hydrocarbon accumulation processes, causing exploration difficulties in the past 60 years. Based on the microscopic evidence of fluid inclusions, combined with basin-modelling, this paper determines stages and ...

Abstract The Sinian Dengying Formation in the Sichuan Basin, southwest China, mainly consisting of dolomites, is one of the most ancient gas-producing series in the world. During the past half-century, gas exploration in the formation has been largely based on the lithostratigraphic correlation, but a regional correlation scheme of ...
