Specific Action of Optical Isomers of Mepacrine upon Dextral and Sinistral Strains of Bacillus mycoides Flügge [PDF]
THE normal colonies of Bacillus mycoides Flugge growing on the surface of agar medium have filaments with an anti-clockwise spiral and should be called sinistral or L-forms; there occur also as very rare exceptions colonies with a clockwise spiral (dextral or D-forms).

Abstract Continental intraplate magmatism remains a fundamental challenge in Plate Tectonics. Triassic magmatism represents a critical phase in the evolution of the Central Asian Orogenic Belt and continues to provoke debate about its tectonic setting.

The NW-SE-trending dextral strike-slip faults on the north side of the Tian Shan, e.g., the Karatau fault, Talas–Fergana fault, Dzhalair–Naiman fault, Aktas fault, Dzhungarian fault, and Chingiz fault, play an important role in accommodating crustal ...

The Drosophila actin nucleator DAAM is essential for left-right asymmetry.
Left-Right (LR) asymmetry is essential for organ positioning, shape and function. Myosin 1D (Myo1D) has emerged as an evolutionary conserved chirality determinant in both Drosophila and vertebrates.

Tectonic synthesis and contextual setting for the Central North Sea and adjacent onshore areas, 21CXRM Palaeozoic Project [PDF]
This report is designed simply to provide a summary tectonic outline and contextual setting against which offshore seismic and well data relating to the Devono-Carboniferous evolution of the Central North Sea, Forth Approaches, and adjacent UK onshore ...

Hidden Faults: The Late Pleistocene Transpression of the Königssee–Lammertal–Traunsee Fault Inferred from Caves Deformation (Eastern Alps) [PDF]
The Eastern Alps have undergone lateral extrusion since the Late Oligocene, with major crustal-scale strike-slip faults still active, as evidenced by earthquakes up to M6, despite scant geological record.

We have compared the aphasia, apraxia, and agnosia in nine cases of crossed dextral aphasia ( CDA) and six cases of sinistral aphasia(SA). The control group was twenty-two cases of dextral aphasia with mirror image lesion (CT scan) of respective CDA.

Aegean extension began during Eocene-Oligocene times and led to the thinning of the upper plate into a retreating slab system. The style of extension during the Miocene remains controversial, with a majority of studies arguing for extension accommodated ...

Role of Intraplate Strike-Slip Earthquakes in Accommodating Convergence Across the Eastern Himalayan Plate Boundary System [PDF]
North-East India, at the eastern extremity of the Himalaya, is one of the most rapidly deforming intraplate regions. The tectonics of this region is shaped by oblique convergence between two nearly perpendicular plate boundaries of the Eastern Himalaya ...
