P300 differences between sinistrals and dextrals
Cognitive Brain Research, 1995The P3(00) event-related potential (ERP) was elicited in 20 left- and 20 normal right-handed young adult male subjects using a simple visual stimulus discrimination task. For left-compared to right-handed subjects, P3 amplitude was larger at anterior electrode sites for the target stimuli and larger overall for the novel visual stimuli; P3 latency was ...

Aesthetic preference in dextrals and sinistrals
Neuropsychologia, 1983Abstract In one study, dextrals preferred pictures with a rightward-balance and sinistrals preferred leftward-balance (LB) pictures. In a second study, sinistrals again preferred LB pictures and were different from dextrals who showed no preference. Aesthetic preferences for asymmetric pictures seem determined by the direction of cerebral asymmetry.

Neuromagnetic fields preceding unilateral movements in dextrals and sinistrals
NeuroReport, 1998Movement-related magnetic fields were recorded with a whole-head magnetoencephalographic system in three dextrals and three sinistrals during right or left index finger extension. The motor field (MF) demonstrated an asymmetrical isofield map pattern with larger field reversal over the contralateral hemisphere for dominant hand movement and an almost ...

Analysis of follicle cell patterns in dextral and sinistral Limnaea peregra
Development, 1969ABSTRACT Several experiments done in our laboratory make it likely that in the egg of Limnaea stagnalis there is a cortical morphogenetic field (Raven, 1949, 1952, 1966). One of us (Raven, 1963,1964,1967) has studied the origin of this morphogenetic field. In the newly laid egg cell there is a vegetative pole plasm, occupying a sector of

The developmental genetics of dextrality and sinistrality in the gastropodLymnaea peregra
Wilhelm Roux's Archives of Developmental Biology, 1982The genetics of body asymmetry inLymnaea peregra follows a maternal mode of inheritance involving a single locus with dextrality being dominant to sinistrality. Maternal inheritance implies that all members of a brood have the same phenotype, however, some broods contain a few individuals of opposite coil.

Coiling patterns of heligmonellid nematodes were examined for 520, 208, and 33 individuals of Nippostrongylus brasiliensis, Orientostrongylus tenorai, and Sabanema sp., respectively, collected from murine rodents of Indonesia. Besides typical sinistral coiling, complete dextral coiling was found in 3.3% of N.

A potential-field model for dextral and sinistral filament channels
Solar Physics, 1996Recent observations of Martin, Bilimoria, and Tracadas (1995) have revealed two new magnetic and structural classes for solar filaments and filament channels. The magnetic classes are called sinistral and dextral, while the structural classes are left-bearing and right-bearing.

FLOW-CYTOMETRIC ANALYSIS OF T-LYMPHOCYTE SUBSETS IN SINISTRAL AND DEXTRAL PATIENTS WITH GINGIVITIS
International Journal of Neuroscience, 2003The aim of this study was to determine whether there was any change in T-lymphocyte subsets in sinistral and dextral patients with gingivitis. The study was carried out on 36 patients (16 males and 20 females) with gingivitis. The age of the patients ranged from 16 to 25 (mean age = 18.50 +/- 3.85). Patients were divided into two equal groups according
