Heat Stroke–Induced Sinoatrial Node Dysfunction

The Journal of Emergency Medicine, 2015
Heat stroke has been associated with stress-induced cardiomyopathy and electrocardiogram ST segment elevation and depression. Laboratory studies with dogs have demonstrated heat stroke-induced sinoatrial node dysfunction in the setting of hyperkalemia.

Abstract P3024: Mitochondrial Dysfunction Underlies Sinoatrial Node Dysfunction In Heart Failure With Preserved Ejection Fraction

Circulation Research, 2022
Background: Metabolic comorbidities are frequent in patients with heart failure with preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF). We recently demonstrated that chronotropic incompetence and exercise intolerance are associated with intrinsic sinoatrial (SAN) dysfunction in animal models of HFpEF.

Sinoatrial node dysfunction after stereotactic ablative radiation therapy in the chest.

Journal of Clinical Oncology, 2017
132 Background: Sinoatrial node (SAN) injury following stereotactic ablative radiation therapy (SABR) in the chest has not been reported in the literature. We report SAN dysfunction as a potential toxicity of SABR in the chest. Methods: We examined the clinical courses and SABR plans of 47 patients treated for T1 or T2 non-small cell lung cancer of ...

The Sinoatrial Node and Its Dysfunction

1987
The purpose of this chapter is to review the function and dysfunction of the sinoatrial node (SAN). The majority of the chapter encompasses SAN dysfunction: surface electrocardiography; clinical manifestations; noninvasive evaluation; intracardiac electrophysiology and treatment.

[Non-invasive tests in the diagnosis of sinoatrial node dysfunction].

Vnitrni lekarstvi, 1994
The authors present a group of 67 patients, mean age 63 +/- 15 years, where they applied on account of suspected dysfunction of the sinoatrial node (SA) the atropine test (AT), 24-hour Holter monitoring and transoesophageal stimulation of the atria (TESP). The objective of the investigation was to test the reliability and yield of the mentioned methods

[Diagnosis and treatment of sinoatrial node dysfunction].

Klinicheskaia meditsina, 2003
Sick sinus syndrome is characterized by disturbance of its automatic function and (or) sinu-atrial conductivity caused by organic or vegetative defects. Diagnostic algorithm includes: clinical evidence, ECG, Holter monitoring, electrophysiological investigation, pharmacological test. Treatment is pharmacological and surgical.

[Analysis of cardiac rhythm variability in patients with sinoatrial node dysfunction].

Klinicheskaia meditsina, 2010
The study was designed to elucidate the wave structure of heart rhythm variability (HRV) for the assessment of vegetative regulation of pacemaker activity of the sinoatrial node in 362 patients with coronary heart disease. The results were compared with the data of routine cardiologic examination.
