Centrifugal Sintering - Development of a New Pressure Sintering Process -
Advanced Materials Research, 2006Centrifugal sintering is a novel process for the preparation of thick films. In this process, high gravity such as 104g is applied at high temperatures. Because of the distinctive measure of pressing by the centrifugal force, gradient of pressure arises in the specimen, resulting in the graded porous structure during the progress of sintering.

Numerical investigation of sinter cooling process in sinter cooler
AIP Conference Proceedings, 2013In this paper, the sinter cooling process is numerically studied to get the pressure field, velocity field and temperature field when the fluid flows through the porous media by developing a two-dimensional unsteady state computational model. The inlet velocity, layer height, porosity and sinter layer distribution are the main parameters affecting the ...

Modeling Inherently Homogeneous Sintering Processes
Advanced Theory and Simulations, 2018AbstractA novel Monte Carlo model for the simulation of sintering processes is introduced. Different from previous models, local interface curvature is considered in the acceptance of diffusion steps. This enables the investigation of the effects of interface energies on the sintering process.

Sintering Processing of Compressor Flanges
Materials Science Forum, 2007To manufacture a flange for a compressor with a relief groove by using powder metallurgy in order to prevent deformation to the compressor in operation, powder material for the flange is charged into a mold; an ablative member having a melting point lower than that of the powder material is positioned at a place where a relief groove is to be formed ...

PROCESSES INVOLVED IN SINTERING
Powder Metallurgy, 19591.-INTRODUCTION THE considerable advances in powder metallurgy during the past two decades call for a knowledge of, and an ability to interpret, the physicochemical processes that control sintering. This need has stimulated a large amount of experimental and theoretical research in an attempt to establish the laws governing sintering, but this ...

Exergy Analysis and Optimization of Sintering Process
Steel Research International, 2018Iron ore sintering is an important and large energy‐consumption segment in the iron and steel industry. It is thus essential to save energy in the sintering process considering both quality and quantity.

Characteristics of sintering processes
Soviet Powder Metallurgy and Metal Ceramics, 1978New, more accurate formulations of the autonomy and stress transfer principles are proposed. Quantitative characteristics of autonomy are defined. An examination is made of characteristics determining quantitatively the participation of various types of deformation (with contact fixation or disturbance) in consolidation (sintering, sintering under ...
