A Model for Partial Viscous Sintering [PDF]

open access: yes, 1991
A mathematical model describing the sintering rate of a viscous material powder bed is presented. This model assumes that the powder bed is composed of cubic packed, equal-size spherical particles.

Handbook of Establishing and Maintaining Oxygen‐Free Atmospheres

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study presents a practical framework for creating oxygen‐free atmospheres at ambient pressure using silane‐doped inert gases. The results show that ultra‐low oxygen levels and strongly reduced water content can be achieved through controlled silane dosing, drying systems, and sensor monitoring.

Densification Behaviors of Zirconium Carbide with Silicon Additive Produced by Spark Plasma Sintering

open access: yesNuclear Materials and Energy
Zirconium Carbide (ZrC) is a promising matrix material candidate for Fully Ceramic Microencapsulated (FCM) fuel. Using Spark Plasma Sintering (SPS) and introducing a certain amount of Si as sintering additive can effectively promote the sintering ...

CONSIDERATIONS ON THE POSSIBILITY OF A SINTERING MANGANESE LOW ALLOY STEELS [PDF]

open access: yesFiabilitate şi Durabilitate, 2014
Experimental research on the sintered steels with manganese own, in mixtures of powders obtained lead to the conclusion that in order to achieve homogeneity of the structural and mechanical characteristics comparable to those of the alloy steels ...

Improvement of mechanical properties of zirconia-toughened alumina by sinter forging [PDF]

open access: yes, 1994
ZTA powder with a composition of 85 wt% alumina/15 wt% zirconia was prepared by a gel precipitation method. Sinter forging was performed with this powder to enhance the mechanical properties of ZTA materials.

Electrical Conductivities of Conductors, Semiconductors, and Their Mixtures at Elevated Temperatures

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This article presents a comprehensive review of temperature‐dependent electrical conductivity data for multiple material classes at elevated temperatures, highlighting a persistent conductivity gap between metals and semiconductors in the range of 102$\left(10\right)^{2}$– 107$\left(10\right)^{7}$ S/m. Metal–ceramic irregular metamaterials are proposed

The Sintering Process in Snow [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Glaciology, 1966
The growth of bonds between snow grains or ice spheres has been variously attributed to surface diffusion, volume diffusion, and evaporation–condensation. To distinguish among these possible mechanisms the unconfined compressive strength of two groups of snow samples was determined as a function of time.

From Powders to Dense Metal Parts: Characterization of a Commercial AlSiMg Alloy Processed through Direct Metal Laser Sintering [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
In this paper, a characterization of an AlSiMg alloy processed by direct metal laser sintering (DMLS) is presented, from the analysis of the starting powders, in terms of size, morphology and chemical composition, through to the evaluation of mechanical ...

Four‐Point Bending Tests at High Temperatures on Commercial MgO‐C Refractory Bricks with and Without Recyclate Considering Different Carbon Contents

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Four‐point bending tests are conducted in an argon atmosphere on commercial MgO‐C brick grades with and without MgO‐C recyclate from room temperature up to 1300 °C. No detrimental effect of the MgO‐C recyclates on bending strength is found. Instead, a decisive influence of the total carbon content is observed, with lower total carbon contents ...

Maximum Fluidized Bed Boiler Temperature Determination for Coal–Biomass Combustion Condition Through Ash Area Reduction Technique

open access: yesEnergies
The residue of the so-called fibrous seed from the açai fruit represents 70% of the mass of the fruit and has potential for useful energy generation. Evaluating and treating the residue as a renewable fuel offers both economic and environmental benefits,
