Bending analysis of FGM plates using sinusoidal shear and normal deformation theory

open access: yesForces in Mechanics, 2023
This paper presents the bending analysis of functionally graded material (FGM) plates using sinusoidal shear and normal deformation theory. The in-plane displacements include sinusoidal functions in the thickness coordinate to consider the effect of ...

A new sinusoidal shear deformation theory for bending, buckling, and vibration of functionally graded plates [PDF]

open access: yesApplied Mathematical Modelling, 2012
A new sinusoidal shear deformation theory is developed for bending, buckling, and vibration of functionally graded plates. The theory accounts for sinusoidal distribution of transverse shear stress, and satisfies the free transverse shear stress ...

Dynamic Buckling of Embedded Laminated Nanocomposite Plates Based on Sinusoidal Shear Deformation Theory [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Applied and Computational Mechanics, 2016
In this study, the dynamic buckling of the embedded laminated nanocomposite plates is investigated. The plates are reinforced with the single-walled carbon nanotubes (SWCNTs), and the Mori-Tanaka model is applied to obtain the equivalent material ...

Thermal stress and deformation analysis of a size-dependent curved nanobeam based on sinusoidal shear deformation theory

open access: yesAlexandria Engineering Journal, 2018
In this paper, the analytical approach for thermal stress and deformation analysis of a curved nanobeam is presented. The nanobeam is subjected to transverse mechanical and thermal loads while resting on Pasternak's foundation.

A feedback control system for vibration of magnetostrictive plate subjected to follower force using sinusoidal shear

open access: yesAin Shams Engineering Journal, 2016
In this research, the vibrational behavior of magnetostrictive plate (MsP) as a smart component is studied. The plate is subjected to an external follower force and a magnetic field in which the vibration response of MsP has been investigated for both ...

Thermal Vibration of Thick Functionally Graded Material Spherical Shells by Using Third-order Shear Deformation Theory and Simply Homogeneous Equation [PDF]

open access: yesComputational Engineering and Physical Modeling, 2023
The effect of third-order shear deformation theory (TSDT) on the functionally graded material (FGM) thick spherical shells under sinusoidal heating loads can be studied by using the generalized differential quadrature (GDQ) method.

Buckling analysis of plates using an efficient sinusoidal shear deformation theory

open access: yesJournal of Fundamental and Applied Sciences, 2023
Mechanical buckling response of isotropic and orthotropic plates using the two variable refined plate theory is presented in this paper. The theory takes  account of transverse shear effects and parabolic distribution of the transverse shear strains through the thickness of the plate; hence it is unnecessary  to use shear correction factors.
