Size-dependent electro-elastic analysis of a sandwich microbeam based on higher-order sinusoidal shear deformation theory and strain gradient theory

Journal of Intelligent Material Systems and Structures, 2017
The governing equations of bending analysis of a sandwich microbeam are derived in this article. The sandwich microbeam includes an elastic micro-core and two piezoelectric micro face-sheets. The microbeam is subjected to transverse loads and two-dimensional electric potential.

Thermo-mechanical bending of power and sigmoid FGM sandwich plate using sinusoidal shear deformation theory

Journal of Reinforced Plastics and Composites
The present study focuses on the thermo-mechanical bending investigation of functionally graded material (FGM) sandwich plates with temperature-dependent material properties. For engineering applications, FGMs are typically made of metal and ceramic, where metal provides high rigidity and ceramic delivers high thermal resistivity.

Dynamic buckling of FGM viscoelastic nano-plates resting on orthotropic elastic medium based on sinusoidal shear deformation theory

Structural Engineering and Mechanics, 2016
Sinusoidal shear deformation theory (SSDT) is developed here for dynamic buckling of functionally graded (FG) nano-plates. The material properties of plate are assumed to vary according to power law distribution of the volume fraction of the constituents.

Vibration analysis of concrete foundations retrofit with NFRP layer resting on soil medium using sinusoidal shear deformation theory

Soil Dynamics and Earthquake Engineering, 2017
Abstract After decades of service, concrete foundations may be in need of strengthening and retrofitting due to continuous aging. However, the main objective of this work is presenting a mathematical model for vibration of concrete foundation with nano fiber reinforced polymer (NFRP) layer resting on soil medium.

Effect of thermo-magneto-electro-mechanical fields on the bending behaviors of a three-layered nanoplate based on sinusoidal shear-deformation plate theory

Journal of Sandwich Structures & Materials, 2017
The nonlocal thermo-magneto-electro-mechanical bending behaviors of a three-layered nanoplate are presented in this study. The three-layered nanoplate includes a nano-sheet and two piezo-magnetic face-sheets at the top and the bottom. Temperature distribution is assumed linear along the thickness of the plate.

Dynamic pull-in and pull-out analysis of viscoelastic nanoplates under electrostatic and Casimir forces via sinusoidal shear deformation theory

Microelectronics Reliability, 2017
Abstract In the present research, dynamic pull-in and pull-out analysis of viscoelastic nanoplate switch under electrostatic and intermolecular Casimir forces are studied. The Viscoelastic properties of the nanoplate are considered using Kelvin-Voigt model. Sinusoidal shear deformation theory is utilized for mathematical modeling of the structure due

A Modified Moving Kriging Interpolation-Based Meshfree Method with Refined Sinusoidal Shear Deformation Theory for Analysis of Functionally Graded Plates

2018
This paper presents an efficient approach based on a modified Moving Kriging–interpolation meshfree method integrated with the refined sinusoidal shear deformation plate theory to analyze static bending and free vibration of functionally graded plates. Unlike traditional higher order shear deformation plate theories, this theory presented retains only ...
