First record of Siphoninus phillyreae on pomegranate in Greece

open access: yesENTOMOLOGIA HELLENICA, 2017
On June 2012, the ash whitefly Siphoninus phillyreae (Haliday) (Hemiptera: Aleyrodidae) was recorded for the first time on pomegranate in Greece. Its occurrence was observed in a pomegranate orchard at Kato Tithorea, in Fthiotida.

Food Preference, Predation Efficiency and Life Table Parameters of Euseius scutalis (Acari: Phytoseiidae) Reared on Tenuipalpus punicae and Siphoninus phillyreae under Constant Conditions [PDF]

open access: yesSVU-International Journal of Agricultural Sciences, 2020
The biology, life table parameters and predation efficiency of the predatory mite, Euseius scutalis (Acari: Phytoseiidae) feed Tenuipalpus punicae mobile stages and Siphoninus phillyreae eggs were tested at constant conditions (30 ± 1oC & 65 ± 5 % R.H.).

Conservation of Non-Pest Whiteflies and Natural Enemies of the Cabbage Whitefly Aleyrodes proletella on Perennial Plants for Use in Non-Crop Habitats. [PDF]

open access: yesInsects, 2021
Aleyrodes proletella causes severe economic damage to several Brassica crops. Its naturally occurring enemies often immigrate late in the season or appear in low numbers on cabbage.

Biological Control of the Pomegranate Whitefly, Siphoninus phillyreae (Homoptera:Aleyrodidae:Aleyrodinae) by Using the Bioagent, Clitostethus arcuatus (Coleoptera:Coccinellidae)

open access: yesJournal of Entomology, 2006

open access: yesAfrican Entomology, 2010
On 4 May 2009, specimens of a whitefly were collected by the senior author on wild olive, Olea europeae subsp. africana, in the Western Cape at Vermont, Hermanus (34°25'S 19°10'E), and on 22 May 2009 a grower from Halfmanshof, Porterville (33°08'S 18°58'E) submitted leaf samples of pomegranate (Punica granatum) with a heavy whitefly infestation.

Effects of artificial diet on the biological characteristics of the ladybeetle Coccinella septempunctata

open access: yesEntomological Research, Volume 52, Issue 4, Page 223-231, April 2022., 2022
Abstract The ladybeetle Coccinella septempunctata Linnaeus is an important natural enemy of aphids, scale insects, whitefly, and lepidopteran larvae. Mass rearing of this natural enemy is limited due to the lack of effective artificial feed. We compared the biological performance of C.

Banker plants promote functional biodiversity and decrease populations of the cabbage whitefly Aleyrodes proletella

open access: yesJournal of Applied Entomology, Volume 145, Issue 1-2, Page 36-45, February 2021., 2021
Abstract In this study, potential banker plant systems against the cabbage whitefly Aleyrodes proletella Linnaeus (Hemiptera: Aleyrodidae) were developed under controlled conditions. The two most promising banker plant systems, that is, the parasitoid Encarsia tricolor Förster (Hymenoptera: Aphelinidae) either with Aleyrodes lonicerae Walker on ...
