Effects of a ketogenic and low-fat diet on the human metabolome, microbiome, and foodome in adults at risk for Alzheimer's disease. [PDF]
Abstract INTRODUCTION The ketogenic diet (KD) is an intriguing therapeutic candidate for Alzheimer's disease (AD) given its protective effects against metabolic dysregulation and seizures. Gut microbiota are essential for KD‐mediated neuroprotection against seizures as well as modulation of bile acids, which play a major role in cholesterol metabolism.

Insight into the interactions between LTH‐mammals and seedling communities in forest regeneration can be instrumental in planning effective restoration efforts. We highlight the importance of landscape protection in seedling survival and the role of LTH‐mammals in promoting seedling diversity in mature forests but also in secondary successional forests.

The effectiveness of anti‐IgE and anti‐IL5/5R was compared in this prospective cohort study including patients with severe asthma enrolled in ISAR and eligible for both biologic classes. Both anti‐IgE and anti‐IL5/5R improved asthma outcomes; however, anti‐IL5/5R was superior in reducing asthma exacerbations and LTOCS use.

Reproductive niche differentiation in syntopic tropical tree frogs (Agalychnis)
Small differences in syntopic Agalychnis callidryas and A. spurrelli oviposition sites and embryo predation via snakes and invertebrates provide context for previously unexplainable differences in the embryonic behavioral risk responses. Correlations in reproductive and ecological traits suggest character displacement in the syntopic populations of ...

The dynamics of megacusps at a fetch‐limited, tideless beach are strongly linked to the presence of crescentic bars and less related to the prevailing wave conditions. Megacusps typically develop some days after the formation of a crescentic bar and significant morphological coupling between megacusps and inner crescentic bars is observed.

Adenovirus entry: Stability, uncoating, and nuclear import
Viruses invade organisms and cells, cause disease, persist for a lifetime, or are eliminated by host defense. Viral vectors are beneficial to clinical therapy or preventive vaccination. Adenoviruses are widespread human pathogens and the most widely used vectors in gene therapy.
