Road air pollution harms the reproductive success of a bee‐pollinated wildflower: A dusty threat to biodiversity

open access: yesPLANTS, PEOPLE, PLANET, Volume 8, Issue 5, Page 1567-1571, September 2026.
Dust, a common form of air pollution, is particularly problematic on roadsides, which are important habitats for plants and pollinators. We investigated whether and how road dust affects plant sexual reproduction using Primula chungensis in a biodiversity hotspot. Our study provides compelling evidence that road dust can harm plant reproductive success

Exploring the Use and Impact of Composite Materials in Robotics: A Systematic Review

open access: yesJournal of Field Robotics, Volume 43, Issue 6, Page 4037-4060, September 2026.
ABSTRACT Lightweight and high‐strength materials are important in robotics, as structural design impacts efficiency, payload capacity, and energy consumption. Composite materials, with their superior stiffness‐to‐weight ratios and multifunctional properties, offer clear advantages over conventional metals and polymers.

Global Surgery at the Frontlines of Conflict Zones: Role of Health Diplomacy in the Provision of On‐Site Surgical Care to Children

open access: yesWorld Medical &Health Policy, Volume 18, Issue 3, September 2026.
ABSTRACT Confrontational violence still puts catastrophic burdens on children, with 2024 being the highest recorded levels of displacement, malnutrition, injury, and deprivation in contemporary humanitarian history. Children's surgical care is still grossly underrepresented in health responses worldwide in the prevention of avoidable deaths and long ...

Reconstructing Climate From Coral Skeletal Banding: Statistical Effects of Replicating Cores and Observers

open access: yesPaleoceanography and Paleoclimatology, Volume 41, Issue 9, September 2026.
Abstract Corals archive past ocean‐climate variability in their annual skeletal density bands, but the reliability of these records is dependent on precise and reproducible measurements. We assessed how variability among observers and cores affects coral growth measurements and their relationship with climate indices.
