Antiseptic Effects at Injection Sites
Dermatology, 1997To our knowledge, there are no published papers detailing antisepsis for injection sites. In view of this, the efficacies of povidone-iodine (PVP-I) ethanol solution and chlorhexidine (CH) ethanol, the agents most commonly used for antisepsis of the operative field, were compared. Before and after the injection site was disinfected with either of these

Inductive Effect on Single-Atom Sites
Journal of the American Chemical Society, 2023Single-atom catalysts exhibit promising electrocatalytic activity, a trait that can be further enhanced through the introduction of heteroatom doping within the carbon skeleton. Nonetheless, the intricate relationship between the doping positions and activity remains incompletely elucidated.

Site effect determination at liquefiable sites
Acta Geodaetica et Geophysica Hungarica, 2006Soft surface sedimentary layers can considerably increase damages during earthquakes. This soil amplification can be computed with different analytical methods. At loose saturated sandy layers, where pore pressure increase and liquefaction are probable, the effective stress method is the appropriate tool to compute site response.

2005
The Web has been a destination for commerce for well over a decade, so it is time to take stock of what we know, or do not know, about Web design. A review of the literature to date provides evidence that we have really just begun to understand what makes a Web site optimal from a design standpoint.

Ecotoxicological effects at contaminated sites
Toxicology, 2004Contamination sites pose significant environmental hazards for terrestrial and aquatic ecosystems. They are important sources of pollution and may result in ecotoxicological effects on terrestrial, groundwater and aquatic ecosystems. At severely contaminated sites, acute effects occur, but the core problem lies in long-term chronic effects ...

The effect of biceps reattachment site
Journal of Shoulder and Elbow Surgery, 2010We hypothesize that an anatomic repair of the distal biceps tendon would recreate native tendon moment arm and forearm rotation, while a nonanatomic insertion would compromise moment arm and forearm rotation.Isometric supination torque was measured at 60° of pronation, neutral, and 60° of supination for the native distal biceps tendon and 4 repair ...

Site response effects for structures located on sand sites
Canadian Geotechnical Journal, 1990Results are presented for 4 sand sites forming part of a site response study of 11 soil sites. The results are in the form of spectral accelerations and ratios, base shear coefficients, and foundation factors. They indicate that significant amplifications can be expected at sand sites, especially for low-intensity excitation. Comparisons are made with

Exploring the Plasma-Effect Site Concentration Difference During Effect Site Controlled Infusion
2000Based on pharmacokinetic models, target-controlled infusion (TCI) systems have been developed to reach and maintain any desired plasma concentration of a drug during anaesthesia. These TCI systems control the plasma concentration and clinical effects are often deferred. The delay between the peak plasma concentration (Cpmax) and maximal clinical effect

The effect of site-to-site variability in ultrasensitive dose responses
Journal of Mathematical Biology, 2016In this paper we study the ultrasensitive behavior of multisite phosphorylation or ligand binding systems, under site-to-site variations in the modification rates. Using computational methods and mathematical analysis, we prove that the Hill coefficient reaches its maximum value when all sites are identical to each other.

Inter‐Site Distance Effect in Electrocatalysis
Angewandte ChemieAbstractThe inter‐site distance effect (ISDE) has gained significant attention in heterogeneous catalysis, challenging classical models that treat adjacent nonbonded sites as isolated. Recent studies demonstrate that these sites can exhibit long‐range cooperative interactions, enhancing reaction efficiencies.
