Action relevance in linguistic context drives word-induced motor activity

open access: yesFrontiers in Human Neuroscience, 2014
Many neurocognitive studies on the role of motor structures in action-language processing have implicitly adopted a dictionary-like framework within which lexical meaning is constructed on the basis of an invariant set of semantic features.

On Pantograph Problems Involving Weighted Caputo Fractional Operators with Respect to Another Function

open access: yesFractal and Fractional, 2023
In this investigation, weighted psi-Caputo fractional derivatives are applied to analyze the solution of fractional pantograph problems with boundary conditions.

Improving the Robustness of Visual Teach‐and‐Repeat Navigation Using Drift Error Correction and Event‐Based Vision for Low‐Light Environments

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
Visual teach‐and‐repeat (VTR) navigation allows robots to learn and follow routes without building a full metric map. We show that navigation accuracy for VTR can be improved by integrating a topological map with error‐drift correction based on stereo vision.

Continual Learning for Multimodal Data Fusion of a Soft Gripper

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
Models trained on a single data modality often struggle to generalize when exposed to a different modality. This work introduces a continual learning algorithm capable of incrementally learning different data modalities by leveraging both class‐incremental and domain‐incremental learning scenarios in an artificial environment where labeled data is ...

Lower Bounds, and Exact Enumeration in Particular Cases, for the Probability of Existence of a Universal Cycle or a Universal Word for a Set of Words

open access: yesMathematics, 2020
A universal cycle, or u-cycle, for a given set of words is a circular word that contains each word from the set exactly once as a contiguous subword. The celebrated de Bruijn sequences are a particular case of such a u-cycle, where a set in question is ...

Convergent and Divergent Connectivity Patterns of the Arcuate Fasciculus in Macaques and Humans

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study employs viral‐based single‐neuron tracing and dMRI‐based whole‐brain tractography to investigate arcuate fasciculus (AF) trajectories in macaque monkeys, and compares with the human AF connectome using spectral embedding. Results demonstrate conserved AF topography spanning temporoparietal‐auditory‐frontal pathways across primates, with ...

Likelihood Ratio Testing under Measurement Errors

open access: yesEntropy, 2018
We consider the likelihood ratio test of a simple null hypothesis (with density f 0 ) against a simple alternative hypothesis (with density g 0 ) in the situation that observations X i are mismeasured due to the presence of ...

A Study on H-Fuzzy Controller for a Non-Linear Wind Turbine with Uncertainty

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2023
In this study, an H∞-fuzzy controller is proposed for application in wind turbines with uncertainties and nonlinearities. The performance of the proposed controller was validated via dynamic simulations using a commercial aero-elastic code and wind ...

Mendelian Randomization and Double Machine Learning Modeling Reveal Brain Imaging‐Derived Phenotypes as Functional Contributors to 18 Autoimmune Inflammatory Diseases

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This schematic integrates the eight statistically significant causal relationships identified between 1,366 brain imaging‐derived phenotypes (IDPs) and 18 autoimmune inflammatory diseases (AIDs). Arrows indicate the direction of causality inferred from bidirectional two‐sample MR analyses.

Towards Interactive Logic Programming [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Linear logic programming uses provability as the basis for computation. In the operational semantics based on provability, executing the additive-conjunctive goal $G_1 \& G_2$ from a program $P$ simply terminates with a success if both $G_1$ and $G_2 ...
