Improvement of a Hybrid-PM Interior-PMSM with Six-Phase FSCW for EV Application

Permanent-magnet synchronous machines (PMSMs) with hybrid PMs have attracted much attention. In this paper, a V-shape-pole hybrid-PM interior-PMSM with six-phase fractional-slot concentrated winding (FSCW) is investigated. To improve the effects of the hybrid-PM, Some magnetic barriers are introduced in the V-shape interior-PMSM.

Fault tolerant control in six-phase PMSM under four open-circuits fault conditions

A new Fault Tolerant System (FTS) for six-phase Permanent Magnet Synchronous Machines (PMSM) working at variable speed is proposed in this paper. The strategy is able to tolerate up to four open-circuit faults and it aims to minimize torque ripple and reduce the reactive power on the machine operating under fault and no-fault conditions.

Although multiphase machines can operate with one or more disabled phases, the diagnosis of an open-phase fault (OPF) is important in order to reconfigure the control strategy. High resistance connection faults (HRCFs) are created by unsecured and damaged connections and if not detected early on can evolve to OPFs.

Research on Symmetrical Six-Phase PMSM Two-Motor Inversed-Series Connection System

By connecting two symmetrical six-phase PMSM in a inversed-series mode, a new series-connected drive system is obtained. The voltage and flux equations in the natural coordinate system are established. Then the voltage and flux equations are transformed into three mutually orthogonal subspaces by decoupling transformation matrix.
