Mechanical Metamaterials for Bioengineering: In Vitro, Wearable, and Implantable Applications
Mechanical metamaterials with engineered architectures exhibit properties that differ from and greatly surpass those of their constituent bulk materials. This review summarizes the applications of mechanical metamaterials in bioengineering, focusing on advances in the last 5 years.

Scenario-based Compositional Verification of Autonomous Systems with Neural Perception [PDF]
Recent advances in deep learning have enabled the development of autonomous systems that use deep neural networks for perception. Formal verification of these systems is challenging due to the size and complexity of the perception DNNs as well as hard-to-quantify, changing environment conditions.

Accuracy Prevents Robustness in Perception-based Control [PDF]
In this paper we prove the existence of a fundamental trade-off between accuracy and robustness in perception-based control, where control decisions rely solely on data-driven, and often incompletely trained, perception maps. In particular, we consider a control problem where the state of the system is estimated from measurements extracted from a high ...

Label size design : aesthetics and effeciency [PDF]
Considering label as one of the important map component, this paper is an attempt to provide empirical evidence of label size design rules and frames which is based on the design aesthetics and efficiency.

This study explores geometry‐driven phase evolution in gyroid shell metamaterials made via laser powder bed fusion of 17‐4 precipitation hardened stainless steel. Locally hardened regions develop along the primary loading paths in the structure, which finite element analysis and geometric considerations link to enhanced gyroid strength.

Adjustable Plasmonic Core–Shell Nanoparticles for Personalized Color Vision Correction
This study introduces a personalized solution for correcting color vision deficiency (CVD) by embedding tunable core‐shell metal nanoparticles—a common nanotechnology—into contact lenses. By customizing the nanoparticles’ optical properties to filter specific wavelengths, these lenses address individual visual impairments, enhancing color ...
