Features of group growth for gray sea urchin (Strongylocentrotus interme¬dius) at the northwestern coast of the Japan Sea

open access: yesИзвестия ТИНРО, 2018
Comparative study of growth rate and size-age structure of gray sea urchin Strongylocentrotus intermedius is conducted for six its aggregations along Primorye coast on the data collected in diving surveys in 2015–2017.

Size-Dependent Structure Relations between Nanotubes and Encapsulated Nanocrystals

open access: yes, 2017
The structural organization of compounds in a confined space of nanometer-scale cavities is of fundamental importance for understanding the basic principles for atomic structure design at the nanolevel. Here, we explore size-dependent structure relations

Degradation mechanism of the von Willebrand factor A2 domain by nattokinase

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Nattokinase, a natto‐derived protease, exhibits potent antithrombotic effects. This study demonstrates that nattokinase directly cleaves the von Willebrand factor (vWF) A2 domain in vitro. Unlike the native regulator ADAMTS13, nattokinase degrades folded vWF independently of shear stress.

Size, shape and secondary structure of calponin.

open access: yesActa Biochimica Polonica, 2000
The overall size and shape of the chicken gizzard calponin (CaP) h1 molecule was investigated by dynamic light scattering (DLS) measurements. From the DLS experiments, a z-averaged translational diffusion coefficient is derived (5.75 +/- 0.3) x 10(-7) cm(2) s(-1), which corresponds to a hydrodynamic radius of 3.72 nm for calponin. The frictional ratio (

Analysis of starch molecular structure, molar mass, and size

open access: yes
Starch, a vital food ingredient from diverse sources, possesses a complex molecular structure with amylopectin and amylose polymers. The polymers vary greatly in size, molar mass, and branching, often displaying very polydisperse size distributions and ...

Salmonella lipopolysaccharide‐containing supported lipid bilayers as platforms to study bacteriophage interactions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We present robust protocols for the preparation of supported lipid bilayers (SLBs) incorporating either Salmonella smooth LPS or outer membrane vesicles (OMVs). We use a combination of quartz crystal microbalance with dissipation (QCM‐D) and fluorescence microscopy to both characterize the SLBs of various compositions and to probe their interactions ...

Population and size structure for the settlements of Mizuhopecten yessoensis in Peter the Great Bay (Japan Sea)

open access: yesИзвестия ТИНРО, 2014
Current state of the scallop Mizuhopecten yessoensis settlements in Peter the Great Bay (Japan Sea) is considered on the data of diving surveys conducted by RV Ubezhdenny in the coastal zone of Primorye with the depth up to 20 m in summer and fall ...

From mice to humans—divergent strategies for intestinal homeostasis and regeneration

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Recent advances such as organoid genome editing, xenotransplantation, imaging, and whole‐genome sequencing have enabled direct studies of human intestinal stem cells (ISCs). These studies reveal species‐specific features, including slower ISC proliferation, distinct injury responses, slower somatic mutation accumulation in humans, and an inverse ...
