Multi‐View Biomedical Foundation Models for Molecule‐Target and Property Prediction

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Molecular foundation models can provide accurate predictions for a large set of downstream tasks. We develop MMELON, an approach that integrates pre‐trained graph, image, and text foundation models and validate our multi‐view model on over 120 tasks, including GPCR binding.

Can knowledge be justified true belief? [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
Knowledge was traditionally held to be justified true belief. This paper examines the implications of maintaining this view if justication is interpreted algorithmically.

Mitigating Electrochemical Isolation in Ni‐Rich Layered Cathodes for Durable Solid‐State Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Electrochemical isolation of Ni‐rich layered cathodes in sulfide solid‐state batteries is uncovered as a previously unrecognized but critical performance‐limiting pathway. This study elucidates its origin and impact and introduces a scalable mitigation strategy using oxygen‐functionalized conductive carbon.

Arginine Methylation Antagonizes TEAD3‐Mediated Repression to Promote Osteogenic Differentiation by Disrupting RUNX2‐Sequestrating Condensates

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
In the unmethylated state, TEAD forms stable, repressive condensates that sequester the osteogenic master regulator RUNX2. Arginine methylation of TEAD at R55 acts as a molecular brake, dissolving these condensates to release RUNX2 and activate the osteogenic program.

Diagnostic Approach to Cartesian Skepticism - A Debate between Williams and Stroud - [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
"Michael Williams insists that, in order to dismiss skepticism, we should take the diagnostic approach. The idea of this approach is not to prove the incoherence of skeptical arguments, but to critically assess their naturalness.

Microscale Mapping of Fiber Strain and Damage in Composite Wrinkled Laminates Using Computed Tomography Assisted Wide‐Angle X‐Ray Scattering

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study combines full‐field tomography with diffraction mapping to quantify radial (ε002$\varepsilon _{002}$) and axial (ε100$\varepsilon _{100}$) lattice strain in wrinkled carbon‐fiber specimens for the first time. Radial microstrain gradients (−14.5 µεMPa$\varepsilon \mathrm{MPa}$−1) are found to signal damage‐prone zones ahead of failure, which ...
