La réception de l’Oulipo en Catalogne et en Espagne

open access: yesCatalonia, 2018
The following pages are an attempt to sketch a general map of the Oulipo reception in Spain and Catalonia. To this end, it will be necessary to identify uses that are made of potentiality whatever the semiotic system through which they are expressed.

Remote sensing data applied to the evaluation of soil erosion caused by land-use. Ribeirao Anhumas Basin Area: A case study [PDF]

open access: yes
Formerly covered by a tropical forest, the study area was deforested in the early 40's for coffee plantation and cattle raising, which caused intense gully erosion problems.

End-to-End Photo-Sketch Generation via Fully Convolutional Representation Learning

open access: yes, 2015
Sketch-based face recognition is an interesting task in vision and multimedia research, yet it is quite challenging due to the great difference between face photos and sketches.

Cytoplasmic p21 promotes stemness of colon cancer cells via activation of the NFκB pathway

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Cytoplasmic p21 promotes colorectal cancer stem cell (CSC) features by destabilizing the NFκB–IκB complex, activating NFκB signaling, and upregulating BCL‐xL and COX2. In contrast to nuclear p21, cytoplasmic p21 enhances spheroid formation and stemness transcription factor CD133.

Mapping uncharted territory in ice from zeolite networks to ice structures

open access: yesNature Communications, 2018
Ice is one of the most well-studied condensed matter systems, yet new phases are still being discovered. Here the authors report a large-scale computational study of the configuration space of water ice, creating a navigable “sketch-map” including new ...

In vitro models of cancer‐associated fibroblast heterogeneity uncover subtype‐specific effects of CRISPR perturbations

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Development of therapies targeting cancer‐associated fibroblasts (CAFs) necessitates preclinical model systems that faithfully represent CAF–tumor biology. We established an in vitro coculture system of patient‐derived pancreatic CAFs and tumor cell lines and demonstrated its recapitulation of primary CAF–tumor biology with single‐cell transcriptomics ...

Image-to-Image Translation with Conditional Adversarial Networks

open access: yes, 2018
We investigate conditional adversarial networks as a general-purpose solution to image-to-image translation problems. These networks not only learn the mapping from input image to output image, but also learn a loss function to train this mapping.

MILITARY SKETCHING AND MAP READING [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of the American Medical Association, 1917
The ability to read maps is an absolutely essential qualification of a medical officer. Instructions conveyed to him in the field often contain references to maps. If he is unable to understand these references his efficiency is greatly impaired. Then, too, the question of shelter and cover from fire at distant points at which it might be desirable to ...

Effect of chemotherapy on passenger mutations in metastatic colorectal cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Changes in passenger mutation load and predicted immunotherapy response after chemotherapy treatment. Tumor cells rich with passenger mutations have increased sensitivity to chemotherapy. Correlation of passenger mutations with neoantigen load suggests highly mutated clones promote a more effective response to immunotherapy, and therefore, first‐line ...

Mars geologic mapping: Dao, Harmakhis, and Reull Valles region [PDF]

open access: yes
The east rim of Hellas basin is a complex geologic region affected by volcanic, tectonic, channeling, and resurfacing processes. A regional geologic map of the area between 27.5-42.4 degrees S and 260-275 degrees W was compiled in order to establish ...
