A Method to Simulate the Skew Normal Distribution
A new method is developed to simulate the skew normal distribution. The result is interesting from a practical as well as a theoretical viewpoint. The new method is simple to program and is more efficient than the standard method of simulation by acceptance-rejection method.

Likelihood Inference of Nonlinear Models Based on a Class of Flexible Skewed Distributions
This paper deals with the issue of the likelihood inference for nonlinear models with a flexible skew-t-normal (FSTN) distribution, which is proposed within a general framework of flexible skew-symmetric (FSS) distributions by combining with skew-t ...

Skew-Symmetric Generalized Normal and Generalized t Distributions
In this paper, we introduce the skew-symmetric generalized normal and the skew-symmetric generalized t distributions, which are skewed extensions of symmetric special cases of generalized skew-normal and generalized skew-t distributions, respectively. We

An Extension of the Epsilon-Skew-Normal Distribution
This article is related with the probabilistic and statistical properties of an parametric extension of the so-called epsilon-skew-normal (ESN) distribution introduced by Mudholkar and Hutson (2000), which considers an additional shape parameter in order to increase the flexibility of the ESN distribution.

Stochastic Orders on the Univariate Unified Skew Normal Family of Distributions
The family of Unified Skew Normal distributions is associated with probability distributions encountered in various problems, notably those of the selection of individuals in a normal population.

Multivariate geometric skew-normal distribution [PDF]
Azzalini (1985) introduced a skew-normal distribution of which normal distribution is a special case. Recently Kundu (2014) introduced a geometric skew-normal distribution and showed that it has certain advantages over Azzalini's skew-normal distribution. In this paper we discuss about the multivariate geometric skew-normal distribution. It can be used

On the Canonical Form of Scale Mixtures of Skew-Normal Distributions
The canonical form of scale mixtures of multivariate skew-normal distribution is defined, emphasizing its role in summarizing some key properties of this class of distributions.

An Information-Theoretic Approach for Multivariate Skew-t Distributions and Applications
Shannon and Rényi entropies are two important measures of uncertainty for data analysis. These entropies have been studied for multivariate Student-t and skew-normal distributions.

The human gut microbiome across the life course
Despite significant individual variation and continuous change throughout life, the human gut microbiome follows some life stage‐specific trends. This article provides a brief overview of how gut microbiome composition shifts across different phases of life. Created in BioRender. Özkurt, E. (2026) https://BioRender.com/8q4nrnc.

In this explorative study, the abundance of circular RNA molecules in bone marrow stem cells was found to be elevated in patients with high‐risk myelodysplastic neoplasms, and to be associated with an increased risk of progression to acute myeloid leukemia.
