On the non‐identifiability of unified skew‐normal distributions
We investigate the non‐identifiability of the multivariate unified skew‐normal distribution under permutation of its latent variables. We show that the non‐identifiability issue also holds with other parameterizations and extends to the family of unified skew‐elliptical distributions and more generally to selection distributions.

MOGAD Is the Most Common Cause of Isolated Optic Neuritis in Children
ABSTRACT Objectives The study aimed to characterize the clinical features, etiologies, and outcomes of isolated, first‐time pediatric ON in the post‐MOG‐IgG era. Methods This was a single‐center retrospective cohort study at Texas Children's Hospital of patients diagnosed with first‐time ON between 2018–2024, with follow‐up data collected through 2025.

Some Information Properties of Order Statistics of Skew-normal Distribution
The skew-normal distribution and some of its extensions have been considered in the last two decades in view of distribution theory and the associated properties. However, less attention has been paid to other aspects of this family of distributions. In

Objective The objective of this study was to describe the longitudinal disease course and pulmonary outcomes of North American patients with melanoma differentiation–associated protein 5 (MDA5) antibody–associated dermatomyositis (DM). Methods Thirty patients with MDA5 antibody–associated DM were identified in a single‐center longitudinal cohort of 352

Multivariate Asymmetric Distributions of Copula Related Random Variables
It is known that normal distribution plays an important role in analysing symmetric data. However, this symmetric assumption may not hold in many real word and in such cases, asymmetric distribution, including skew normal distribution, are known as ...

Objective We aimed to construct and evaluate the first laboratory‐based frailty index (FI‐Lab) for predicting adverse outcomes in systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) and to compare its predictive ability to that of an existing clinical FI. Methods We used data from a single‐center prospective cohort of adult patients with SLE whose baseline visit ...

In this paper, we focus on multivariate doubly truncated first two moments of generalized skew-elliptical distributions. This class of distributions includes many useful distributions, such as skew-normal, skew Student-[Formula: see text], skew-logistic ...

Modeling absolute differences in life expectancy with a censored skew-normal regression approach [PDF]
Parameter estimates from commonly used multivariable parametric survival regression models do not directly quantify differences in years of life expectancy. Gaussian linear regression models give results in terms of absolute mean differences, but are not

Objective To investigate the association between rheumatoid arthritis (RA) and coronary artery calcium (CAC) prevalence, incidence, and progression over four years in adults without prior cardiovascular disease. Methods A case‐cohort study within the Brazilian Longitudinal Study of Adult Health (ELSA‐Brasil) included 585 participants (86 patients with ...

Si‐doped AlCoCrFeNi high‐entropy alloys are synthesized by mechanical alloying to reveal the effect of Si content and milling time on phase evolution, microstructural refinement, and tribological behavior. A transition from FCC to BCC structure, significant grain refinement, and enhanced hardness and wear resistance are achieved, with the 4 at% Si ...
