A new faster algorithm for factoring skew polynomials over finite fields
International audienceIn this paper, we provide an algorithm for the factorization of skew polynomials over finite fields. It is faster than the previously known algorithm, which was due to Giesbrecht (1998). There are two main improvements.

Valuations on Extensions of Weyl Skew Fields
Letk⊂Kbe a finitely generated field extension of transcendence degree 1. Consider the corresponding extension D1(k)⊂D1(K) of skew fields of the first Weyl algebra.

A crossed product of a skew field of quaternions and four-group
The article considers construction of generalized crossed product of an arbitrary quaternions skew field and Klein four-group relative to factor system. It is well known that such crossed product is semisimple ring.

On free subalgebras of certain division algebras
Using ideas of Makar-Limanov, we construct noncommutative free subalgebras in certain division algebras which arise as fields of fractions of skew polynomial rings. Our result applies in particular to the Weyl division algebra D

Fields, meadows and abstract data types
Fields and division rings are not algebras in the sense of "Universal Algebra", as inverse is not a total function. Mending the inverse by any definition of 0(-1) will not suffice to axiomatize the axiom of inverse x(-1) · x = 1, by an equation.

On Nonmodular Periodic Finitary Linear Groups
Very recently M. S. Lucido proved that for any prime p, a periodic finitary linear p′-group G of characteristic p is isomorphic to some finitary linear group G0 of characteristic zero. Moreover G0 can be chosen to be irreducible whenever G is irreducible.

Faithful representations of free products
In 1940 Nisnevic̆ published the following theorem [3]. Let (Gα)α∈Λ be a family of groups indexed by some set Λ and (Fα)α∈Λ a family of fields of the same characteristic p≥0.
