Reference charts for first‐trimester placental three‐dimensional fractional moving blood volume derived using OxNNet

open access: yesUltrasound in Obstetrics &Gynecology, Volume 67, Issue 2, Page 191-200, February 2026.
ABSTRACT Objective To establish a comprehensive reference range for first‐trimester placental three‐dimensional (3D) single‐vessel fractional moving blood volume (svFMBV) using the OxNNet toolkit, based on values observed in healthy pregnancies.

A Chebyshev Polynomial‐Based Wind Speed Profile Characterization Framework: Applications in Mesoscale Model Evaluation

open access: yesWind Energy, Volume 29, Issue 2, February 2026.
ABSTRACT This study presents a polynomial‐based wind speed profile characterization framework that approximates full vertical profiles using five physically meaningful Chebyshev polynomial coefficients. The framework captures key morphological features of wind profiles, including mean wind speed, vertical shear, curvature, inflection‐related behavior ...

A National‐Scale Historical Assessment of Nitrate in Public Drinking Water Supplies in New Zealand: Data Integration and Machine Learning Imputation Approaches

open access: yesWater Environment Research, Volume 98, Issue 2, February 2026.
This study provides the first national‐scale historical assessment of nitrate concentrations in New Zealand drinking water. Linking raw nitrate data to water supplies (2000–2024), we achieved near‐complete coverage, finding that over 95% of the population is supplied with water containing less than 1 mg/L nitrate‐nitrogen.

Galactic Cosmic Ray Ionization on Uranus; Geomagnetic Latitude Dependencies

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Planets, Volume 131, Issue 2, February 2026.
Abstract Galactic Cosmic Rays (GCRs) are a major source of atmospheric ionization, influencing ion abundance, aerosol formation, and electrical processes. GCR‐induced effects are expected to be more pronounced on Uranus than planets closer to the Sun for two reasons; reduced solar irradiance, and weaker solar modulation of incident GCR.

Estimating Organism Abundance Using Within‐Sample Haplotype Frequencies of eDNA Data

open access: yesMolecular Ecology Resources, Volume 26, Issue 2, February 2026.
ABSTRACT Environmental DNA (eDNA) provides powerful insights into species presence and community composition but remains limited in its capacity to infer species abundance or population structure. Here, we show that the deviation between within‐sample haplotype frequencies and the overall population‐level haplotype frequencies can be used to estimate ...
